I'm a 30 year old divorced mom of a crazy 3 year old. Im from the PNW but currently in Alaska for another month or so. Have tried Atkins, VLCD, and partial south beach diet. Now Im kinda doing my own thing and its going pretty good. Im basing it off south beach. I started my new life on August 24th, 2009 weighing in at 332 pounds. Have lost 21 in the first month. Going to try and keep it up this time! I can do this!

I track on Livestrong.com/thedaileyplate and will continue to just track there but post my progress here.

I need south beach/or low carb diet friends!! :)

Anyone need to lose over 100LBS???

I "want" to lose 125 lbs. I NEED to lose about 165. lol Hell I liked who I was at even 260, I was hiking and had a great love life. Now I dont want anyone even touching me. blah. If anyone wants or needs friends on their journey, please buddy me on here!! Smile

Turkey Bacon + random questions
I want to be in some sort of organized diet. Tried Atkins for a day but realized I couldnt eat as much vegetables as Id like..about 4 cups of spinach a day + peppers + mushrooms + a green veggie at dinner like asparagus or broccoli or yellow squash. Are those all allowed on south beach phase 1 and how much daily? (if anyone has a free website with this info that would be awesome!)

Also when trying to find breakfast turkey bacon every single one I found had 0 carbs but sugar was still in the ingredients. What about trace amounts of starch in fresh shredded Parmesan or should I just buy the block (its way more expensive).

Also is it ok to have the sugar alcohol that is in the atkins shakes if it doesnt increase your appetite?

Any advice is welcome!

Also if the things I mentioned are not allowed do you think it would be effective still do follow the diet loosely? I still only have 30-40 net carbs per day and about 30 grams of fiber. I just dont like my fat grams going over 100...even if its EVOO, just seems like so much. My roommate is bringing the book home tonight so I am going to read that, but just wanted to know personal experience. Thanks and good luck to everyone!!!
