One of the things I noted on the Truth about Carbs was that he gave a group of people a salt cracker to chew and asked them to put their hand up when the taste changed, sweet or anything, just change. Those for whom it changed after about 17 seconds could eat carbs (starcy, sugary) fairly freely, those from 20 - 30 seconds then reasonably and those, like me, who it didn't change for or tool longer to change needed to keep the starc & sugar to a minimum and stick to leafy green veg and some fruit.

Did you know that the starch in a baked potato turns to about 19 cubes of sugar - white rice the same.

They've done some research and found that if you cook rice, pasta, potatoes and then cool them and reheat the soluble starch - which turns to sugar - turns to insoluble starch which doesn't so much and helps prevent illness as your gut biome like it and are healthier.

As expected today I'm all achy so I'm spending my time sat on the bed with a very purry cat. He loves it when I'm here he'll spend the day just lying on my legs. This morning I've rearranged the freezers - we moved a small fridge with a tiny freezer on top and brought our big fridge freezer that we brought from Oldham into the house - it had been in the garage for the last 5 years, which is where the other one went. There is already a stand alone freezer in there - all full. I really need to lose the Northern mentality of keeping stuff in for bad weather. We shop online with Sainsbury's once a week and such is the stuff in the freezer we rarely use it. Except for meat - which we seem to have loads of which I buy from Heartier online - organic and British - and they keep giving me £20 off codes, so I just keep on buying.

Have a good one.
