too fat for my own good!
Back in the day, from my early teens to my late 30's, I had been always been involved in athletics of some sort. As a result, I generally could eat just about anything.
Unfortunately, as life progressed, my activity levels decreased, but my food consumption did not decrease. Needless to say, I steadily gained weight. Since my late 30's, I have struggled on the weight yo-yo. Up, down, Up, down, Up, down!
In 2009, my old football and rugby injuries began to affect my joints. In 2010, I could no longer walk nor use my hands due to ruptured ligaments and severely damaged cartilage. In 2011, I was awarded full disability. From 2009 through 2016 my weight went from 188 Lbs to 238 Lbs in 2016.
When I became eligible for Medicare in 2011, I have had 3 surgeries on my ankle, and 5 on both of my wrists. In November, 2016, my Orthopaedic Surgeon, released me to exercise on recumbent stationary bike's.
Due to my overall weight gain, I became Diabetic in 2013, and in 2015 had several TIA's (mini-strokes).
This year, I have only 4 (possibly 5) more surgeries. My hope is that will bed the end of the joint repairs.
The good part is, that since I have been able to work out on the exercise bike, I have lost 48 lbs. from 238 to 190. My goal is 170 lbs.
