I started my journey to better health 2.5 years ago on July 1, 2008. At that time I weight a whopping 255.5, considering that I'm just under 5'1" that was huge. Now I'm at 164 on my way to 129 at least that's the goal my doctor set for me. Time will tell if I can actually make it. In addition to being 126 pounds overweight (do the math - that's almost double what I should weigh), I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I didn't have diabetes or high cholestrol though I can't fathom why not. As of today I no longer have high blood pressure or sleep apnea. I feel better than I have in ages. I work out several times a week, mostly jazzercise or walking.

My favorite mode of travel is via cruise ship. My next trip is to Alaska next summer. Traveling is so much easier now that I'm 90+ pounds lighter, no issues with airplane seats, seatbelts, or narrow aisles.

I'm a retired IT specialist (aka computer geek). I'm really loving retirement.
