I am a 56 year old grandmother who has degenerative disc disease, and two years ago had both knees replaced...After a recent trip to the beach with my daughter and her kids I made a decision to change my life.... I could hardly walk at the beach I could not even get in the ocean because of the waves being so hard on my back..Walking use to help my back but since my knee surgery my back is so bad I can hardly walk more than a 100 ft before I have to sit down. Three years ago I started taking care of my Mother with Alzheimers and became very sedentary because I could not leave the room she was in because she would try to get up and fall, she fell once and broke her hip, so for 2 years I sat in one room with her trying to keep her safe, during that time I had the knee surgery and could not even do the exercises I was supposed to because I could not let her out of my sight. She has since passed away but I am in such bad shape, I am the fattest I have ever been in my life. I could not even play with my grandkids at the beach or go exploring with them, My feet and legs swelled something awful,....So I am trying to lose weight, cut back on the sodium, and quit smoking all at one time. I have been doing this for two weeks now, I have had some successes, I got the fluid off my feet and legs by cutting back on the sodium, I have lost a couple of lbs., and I have cut back some on the smoking. So far so good!
