So today I didn't start my diet, but ate "normal" to find out how many calories I actually eat in a day. Must say I'm surprised just how much I currently eat. It just adds up. And with no exercise it's no wonder I've gained all this weight.
It wouldn't have been so bad but suddenly my boyfriend brought me a plate of crumpets, when I wasn't even hungry. I ate them, but only because they were given to me. I did not actually need or want them. Not good! Also, I did not realize just how high-calory roasted salted cashew nuts are... holy crap.
Anyway, it was interesting. Now on to changing these bad habits, one at a time...

Well, ok, so I lied about my starting weight. Worse, I never even started my diet or exercises. Well, it's a new year, and I want to get back to what I weighed 20 months ago. I was 86 kg at my thinnest then and was quite happy with myself. I am a very tall lady and I'll never be thin, always have had big boobs and a big ass. But I would be quite happy to at least feel good about myself, and not be overweight anymore.
I gained most of my current weight when I changed jobs and moved house. Firstly, stress makes me eat. Secondly, I no longer had a nice gym in walking distance, and stopped exercising. Thirdly, I then moved in with my boyfriend so going on diets is much harder. He is overweight too and loves food, and I love cooking for him. We don't eat that much junk food but probably still too much, and we both don't exercise any more.
Now I hope this will change. We plan to go to a new gym together starting this Saturday. I know when I start exercising it is much easier for me to also change my eating habits - because otherwise I would feel the hard work would be for nothing.
I am hoping to lose at least 20 kg this year, which would at least downgrade me from obese to overweight. Moreover, I want to tackle the attitude that makes me comfort-eat and not care about myself and my health. I will turn 30 in 2013 and want to be a fitter, healthier, happier person by then.
Here's for a good and healthy 2012 everyone... and hopefully I won't disappoint myself.
