"Errr...maam...you do realize..ahem..that this is a store for...well...plus size women!"

LOL...never were sweeter words uttered to me..beats I love you hands down!!

Went shopping today and first stop was Lane Bryant. That comment from the salesman made me want to just walk out and say..oh yes..sorry I didnt realize that I was too petite for this place...I WISH!

Well, I have discovered that I am a size 1 in Lane Bryant..size 1..I wasnt a size 1 when I was born! Boy, I love these new labels. The only problem was that they only had two style of jeans. The straight cut rode right up my backside making for a a cheap thrill for some, but uncomfortable for me. The other one was boot cut flare. Flare?? It looked like I had two highway cones stuck inside my lower trousers!

So Lane Bryant was a flop. I was only looking for jeans so I had to go elsewhere. I had researched on the internet that DKNY have great jeans for curvy butt women like myself. Next stop, Macys. Well Donna Karan, you arent in my Macys, not in the style I wanted anyway.

I did find a wonderful chinese collar duster jacket with pants. Guess what? Size 8! Ok..so the trousers felt like they were going to tear from the rear even though I managed to close the zip and button, but the jacket is, as my son would say 'tight' (not tight as in illfitting but tight as in really cool). So I paid for the luxury of having a nice jacket basically, though I cant close the button on the hip area, YET!! (That will be on my mini goals now!)

Got a dress in size 14. Got a pant in size 12 petite and got two blouses in size large from the teens section. The woman ringing up my shopping asked..area all of these for you? I said yes..but they're all different sizes she exclaimed. Yes I know I replied, I have an out of whack body, what can I say? Then she went on about how skinny I looked and I didnt look like I belonged to the plus size section. Sweetheart, lower your gaze to my butt and you will see why...I am bootylicious and nutritious down to my footilicious!

(for any of you who dont know, I am squash shaped. I wear size 4/6 upper body but size 1x lower body) Oh, size 1x is now an ex because I figured out today that I range from a size 10-14 depending on the company. I have also learnt that if you want good pair of jeans, a few tips are:

-Find jeans with spandex as the other fabric. A lot of companies are now labelling their jeans stretch because of added spandex. 2% spandex is good although one or two companies actually make 4% spandex mix jeans which allows your jean to bloat when you do.

-If you find a good stretch jean, buy one size smaller than you normally would because after one or two wears, it will stretch more and more. (Just make sure it isnt tight originally, but fitted)

Hold on, this means I have lost weight. I have moved down from my previous size..even if the weighing scales dont seem to agree with this newfound discovery..sod off you stupid scales, you shall depress me no longer!! (Now I know why shopping is called retail therapy..I feel so much better...but I could do with some more counselling tomorrow I think!!)

I am fed up with eggs. I feel like I eat eggs all the time. In fact I wish there was an eggless breakfast out there. And then - I have run out of eggs. Now I am panicking like a headless chicken..oh my god..what will I do..how will I survive? An Atkins dieter without eggs? Thats like saying..hmm...well I cant think of a comparison right now but its not good!

went to the grocery store yesterday to buy some eggs but with a two year old going.."I want that' "I want that" and me going "put it back honey" "put it back sweetheart' 'PUT IT BACK RIGHT NOW!!" throughout the entire store, I came out with a couple of bags of groceries but no damn eggs.

I did find Macadamia nuts, which I was beginning to think were non existent so I got something out of my trip last night.

So my breakfast this morning? Macadamia nuts of course. They are quite heavy and I have a stomach cramp and a headache, which is good because I could have easily eaten the whole 4oz otherwise! Stopped in the nick of time!

Lost a few pounds again..finally! So now I have a little confession to make. Yesterday, I had a leftover pizza slice in the morning AND at least a quarter of a pretzel at the mall. AND I still lost weight..AND I am damn happy! (Oh seeing as I am in confession mode..AND I also had a pizza slice the day before as well!...oh god one more..AND I had a bean burrito on Friday!) I just want to say in my defense that after recovering from a sick few days, I became extremely ravenous and low carb wasnt filling me!

Here is confession part two: I ate two carb blocker tablets whenever I had the high carb foods. I really do think that product works. Here is an extract from the product label-

...contains Phase 2™ (white kidney bean extract), an innovative ingredient that helps to block (neutralize) the digestion and absorption of starch and carbohydrates such as: bread, pasta, and many other starchy foods containing white flour and refined sugars. It does this by blocking the enzyme alpha-amylase, which is the digestive enzyme that is responsible for converting starch and carbohydrates into absorbable sugars. ... also contains Gymnema Sylvestre, Chromium and Vanadium that also support healthy glucose levels.

CAVEAT EMPTOR: I am NOT advocating this product or suggesting that anyone should buy it without consulting a medical professional. (Dont want anyone to sue me afterwards for some freaky reaction, or even worse...getting fat because their carbs werent blocked!!)

This product is a fail safe net for me and I do not plan to use this every single day (O.K this was a bad weekend but I am not planning to make this a regular thing)

I only want to use this as a backup so that I dont feel deprived or in an emergency when I go out. Now that I have used it a couple of times without detriment, I am confident that it really does work for me.

I feel so much more confident about not binging now that I know that if I want to, it is an option again, not a fear.

Just a clarification about yesterdays journal. I hate ironing! I just felt a sense of accomplishment having finally caught up!! Procrastination is my worst enemy and fighting a battle and winning is the best day for me, even if it meant monotonous old ironing. I made it bearable by plonking the board in front of a tv and watching 'House while I ironed. Watched House while I exercised; Watched House while I relaxed with a nice mug of decaf coffee and a magazine.

Highlight of yesterday -Watching my fav show back to back for several hours WITHOUT disturbance!! (getting to watch one show is normally impossible!)

(Funny enough, someone suggested a bubblebath but I havent had a bubble bath in so many years that I may have just lost the desire for one! Maybe I need to add that to the things I need to rediscover!)

Coming back to today. Another great day equals a wonderful weekend. I got to spend a mummy and me day with the younger two in the local mall. My daughter is a little on the large side for her age so finding clothes is a normally a nightmare but we found a store called Debs which had clothes for her and my new fav store for her, Limited Too. I thought that the latter one was only for skinny girls but it turned out that they had a great selection in her size!

She has a brand new wardrobe now and next it will be my turn. I saw Lane Bryant today right opposite Limited Too but the mall was closing by the time we left so I will have to discover my latest size another time.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Today was a good day. My husband had to go to a wedding out of town taking our only car with him. Thats doesnt sound good I hear you say!

Well normally the weekend scenario is my husband going to work to tie up ends and us not ever knowing when he will be home. Then him coming home and us all sitting in anticipation of where we will be going out today.

So, him being gone meant some certainity for the day. I spent the day catching up my ironing which has a backlog dating back to a couple of weeks. I managed to complete it all.(I never seem to finish all the ironing before the next load is done).

My kids all went to visit friends and my daughter took the youngest to her friends house for half an hour. So I got some me time finally!

And the best of all, I got to watch a 'House' marathon whilst ironing and afterwards. (House is a TV series about an abrasive but wise Dr. Just reminds me of home!)

I rarely get a day to myself so it was a wonderful feeling..I hope he gets invited to more weddings!
