Good day and bad day!
Good: My weight is the same after a weird day yesterday. (and I entered it wrong on the weigh in yesterday). I expected a gain that didn't happen! Yay!
Bad: Last night, my arm started hurting where they put the stent in on Jan 16.
Bad: I started to have slight pain at the base of my dialysis fistula. It is causing some swelling. Pain when I straighten or bend my arm.
Good: I still had a "thrill" in my fistula (feel the heartbeat), and they were able to give me dialysis like normal.
Bad: Left dialysis with a severe headache....again. This happened Friday. They only pulled .3 of a kilo.
Good: Got my bloodwork. Potassium, Phosphorus, Protein all perfect. My average fluid gains for the month were .4 of a kilo (to put into context, 3 years ago my average fluid gain was 2 kilos).
Bad: Have to take a Vitamin D supplement at dialysis. Nothing to do with my diet, apparently.
Bad: Have to go to the vascular center tomorrow to have them look at my arm. I know this means I will probably have a balloon fistula/angioplasty tomorrow. Which is a surgical, vascular procedure.
Good: They fit me in in the morning for the appointment.
So, two days of taking it easy until I get the okay from the vascular surgery. Which is hard for me.
I've gotten a little addicted to riding my bike every day. I love the way it feels. I also hoped to do very light weight training on my legs 3x a week. I was going to do it on Tuesday, Thursday, and one day on the weekend. When I had the stent put in, he said I could do very light lifting with my arms (like 15 pounds), and only on non-dialysis days. I didn't start it because we were having a hard time sticking my arm at dialysis and I wanted to make sure my arm was completely okay. Now I have to wait on my working my arms....and ALL working out. Bummer.
But...I have a lot to be thankful for! Asking for some prayers that everything goes well tomorrow. I pray for FS friends too!
Onward!

THANK YOU FS FOR BEING AN INSPIRATION! I would not have guessed I would be here 6 months ago! I was using a cane to hobble around!
