68 year old caucasion male living in the beautiful South Pacific country of New Zealand. Like most people my age I eat more than I need, and drink too much of the unbelievably good wines produced in New Zealand. I am extremely fortunate to have a 4 year old daughter whom I love dearly, and who I would like to be around here for her for a good while longer, so I have decided to make a big effort in restoring my health with good sensible eating and exercise. Happy Now
I have lost nearly 7 kg's since the middle of Jan. I don't do a lot of strenuous exercise, nor am I on any sort of fancy diet. All I have done is systematically count my calories which I restrict to about 1200 calories a day on average. I also try to have a high protein diet by eating either some fish, chicken or filet steak on a daily basis. I also eat heaps of salad and a helping of fruit. I never feel hungry (so have no desire for snacking). I feel good, and I am constantly surprised at how much you can eat and still have a low calorie intake. I did notice after about 6 weeks that my weight loss plateaued and I nearly gave up, but I persevered and after about 3 weeks the weight started to decline again. I feel proud of myself and in a good space knowing that it is not so difficult to lose weight healthily - if you want to.
