Had a couple of binge days this week and a couple of days with little exercise. Mon-Wed were intense exercise days at work, though. Back on track today.

I have an active job working outdoors but I keep gaining weight. My ideal weight is 135 lbs and now I'm at about 158. It's hard for me to loose weight because I feel the need to eat every couple of hours in order to keep my blood sugar level and my mind focused. To be successful, I think that I need to work on portion control and to be more aware of how the little snacks add up. I have started keeping a food journal to help with that.
History:
For many years after high school (1993) I maintained a weight around 135-140 lbs. I was vegetarian/vegan from college-2005 and then decided to begin adding dairy, eggs and meat to my diet. In the past 6 years, my weight has continued to increase and now I weigh around 158. In 2007-2008, I lost about 25 pounds(from 155 to 130) and was able to maintain that weight for over a year. Then I went to grad school and gained about 25. Last summer I lost about 10 pounds (down to 145 lbs) by being very active in my job and with additional exercise. But here I am, back above 155 and starting to outgrow my clothes once again.
For me, food plays a significant role in being part of community by sharing food with family and friends.
