Day two of potatoes only went well. I did have to run in to Trader Joe's for some more potatoes and felt a little tempted by the items at the check out counter. I was also very tired yesterday. It was hard to haul the groceries up the steps in the 110 degree heat. I had to lie down. Later I felt both hungry and not hungry at the same time. I guess I just didn't want potatoes but some other "food" to excite my mind and taste buds. That's precisely why I am doing this challenge. It's more of a rehab from excitatory food than a weight loss plan. Today I am up and clear headed and down 2 lbs. Enjoying my sweet potatoes for breakfast before heading off to work. Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

My first day of Potatoes Only went very well indeed. Of course, I wasn't faced with any obstacles along the way as my husband is gone and I worked all day with no social activities planned save for a relaxing and healing Sound Bath at 7 pm last night. This go round of just the potatoes seems easier and more do-able so far. Have a terrific Holiday weekend everyone.

Happy Spudtember everyone! I am taking the Spudfit challenge and doing the potatoes only thing this month. I am going to Maui on the 23rd of September so I am not planning on doing all 30 days, just the first 22. I need a little "food rehab" right now and definitely could use to drop a few pounds before we leave on vacation. Here's to a new month and a new start.

Managed to rock a work out at the gym today and NOT go into the Walgreens next door. I was really craving a La Croix sparkling water but I know the Nutter Butter cookies are in the same aisle and I would've totally ripped into one of the single serve sizes. It was tough but I was tougher. Still hanging in there with the 3 meals per day and no snacking. I hope my healthy habit reboot shows some downward numbers on the scale come Sunday.

Yeah! It's what I predicted. I haven't weighed in quite a while. I had decided back in May to stop struggling with myself and with food and just to accept things as they are. It's been a peaceful time to be sure, yet July was really awful-my brother declined very rapidly from cancer and passed away on 8/2, it was an extremely hot month here with daily temps above 110 for roughly two weeks in a row and over 100 the other part of the month which meant it was very difficult to get my daily walks in and my hot flashes were terrible through the day; draining me of energy. At night they kept me up and dehydrated me so I would wake up groggy as hell, and late to boot. With no energy it was difficult to keep up with my clients, and boy were there clients. July was my biggest month this year, in fact all of last year as well. Maybe the best month I've every had? Naturally, my good habits fell into the garbage as I was snacking all the time and not exercising, not sleeping, eating later than I like, etc. My clothes began to tell the tale of weight gain. Now I am reigning in those bad habits and committing to getting back on track.
I started Monday with a 14 hour fasting window, No Alcohol, No Junk Food, 3 meals a day with no snacking. So far, so good. I was brave enough to weigh in this morning. I am committing to not letting that number control my life and my thoughts. Happy Wednesday everyone.
