Recently quit smoking and packed on some Lbs! I don't really have any hobbies and I've been pertty lazy throughout the winter.

With all this great weather in the PNW, I'm getting antsy.

I'm hoping watching my carb intake will give me back some energy. I'm getting older now so not moving much is really starting to get to me. I'm sore all the time, my feet hurt, my knees hurt, my back hurts after about 10 minutes of walking. I'M GETTING OLD! Ugh!

Carbs vs Net Carbs
Thanks everybody. I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate this site. Darn, I love brats too. Haha. I love salmon and shrimp more though.

Carbs vs Net Carbs
I'm new to this Atkins stuff but I'm really trying. I just realized that when I add something to my menu here in FS it displays carbs, not net carbs. Am I reading that right?

According to Atkins, induction should be 20 net carbs per day. I think I may be slighting myself.

I'm too carby!
I'm having free range deli turkey breast, 2oz and an oz of cheese for my snack today. But I bet you could double that and call it breakfast.

Super easy and on the go. Especially if you roll the cheese up in the turkey.

Not eating enough calories before I max out my carbs
Thanks everybody. Great info. AS for the number of carbs and calories, I kind of got that info from reading this site.

Well, everything is going to change on Monday. I'm grocery shopping this weekend to start phase 1 of the Atkins diet on Monday.

I finally made it to the gym last night and weighed myself for the 1st time since I quit smoking. I gained a lot more than 5lbs quitting smoking. Lets try 18lbs gained. But I guess it was worth it for what I accomplished.

Not eating enough calories before I max out my carbs
This site suggested I eat 2200 calories a day to lose weight and stay healthy.

I am also trying to stay under or around 100 carbs per day.

My dilema is I'm hitting my carb max for the day when I've only taken in half the calories.

Any suggestions? I'm eating cheese and meats such as jerky, smoked salmon for snacks. And chicken at almost every meal, mostly baked or grilled.

I need a high calorie, low carb idea.
