Current Weight

Performance: gaining 1.4 lb a week

Goal Weight

Who I am and what I do is of little importance. However, maybe you guys need to know SOME things.

I'm 24 as of march 2010.
I live in Central FL.
I have people issues.
I'm a boredom eater.
Motivation is my damnation at current but a few chicks from my work have gotten a support group together. We all have different goals so it's very relaxed and very positive. We focus on the positive as much as possible.
This is my first attempt at losing weight honestly. May the Gods [yes, plural] help me.

This is a huge thing in my opinion. But not just for you, for you to monitor your kids. I hate playing the blame game but I know if my parents had paid attention and did things to help teach us kids [4 total] better eating, and less restrictions on playing my Twin and I and my little brother wouldn't be as bad as we are.

On the flip side, I also know while they might have started this mess I'm old enough to change it myself and understand what will happen if I don't.

This is such a true outlook. My first "theme park" reality check was actually at fair, and it was a dejavu(sp?) no less! Since then I found I couldn't ride "The Mummy" rollercoaster at Universal Studios. I think I would like to get rid of those "but"s too.

What's your fuel? Motivation? Drive?
I wanted to ask any who care to share, what your fuel is? What do you do, say, look at, think about to get yourself motivated to do what you came to do. Be it the eating right or otherwise.

For those who wish to know mine... I honestly haven't much. I started changing my diet back in Febuary when I had a gallblatter attack. I felt like my body was going to explode. Not the worst physical pain I've felt but it got my attention. I refused surgery. Why? Because maybe if I caused myself pain I'd learn to eat better.

Well, I have a higher pain tollerance now, not because of being stuborn, but because some foods trigger it for some more than others. But, I'm eating better. Still not where I want to be, but the threat of feeling like something's going to burst out of my body has done it's job.

Now, for the physical aspect. I suck. I'm going to fix my Wii for one. Use fun as motivation to get up. But, I've also realized anger and rage are going to be my key drivers. Please, don't tell me that's not the way to go. To each their own and I know the power of those emotions very well. I used to use it for stupid and unhealthy things, now I'm going to use it to improve my life. I imagine, somewhere down the line, I wont need anger and range anymore; I'll be able to do what I need to do on my own.

That's my blurb of reality.

20 Months and I Finally Made It - 107 Pounds Lost
I was almost disapointed when I didn't see any "wow"s on the first page of comments. Ah, but they were on the second page! That was my first thought! One can only hope to be as determined as you.

And it DOES mean a lot. It's not JUST a number[s]. Those inches lost, those pounds shed are proof of your determination. It's probably one of the hardest things for an overweight person to do. So MANY fail, for so many reasons. You haven't. THAT matters. It matters just as much, taking the step and reaching your goal, as it does to maintain it.

Okay. I'm babbling.

2 weeks, no results
I'm new to this diet thing but I do know the scale isn't the only thing you should be looking at to calculate results. You should also look at size. You should take other measurements, waist, hips etc. And record any loss in size. When you work out, you're building muscle. Muscle not only burns more calaries [yay!] but it also weighs more. So while you may not be moving on the scale, you could be turning 2 pounds of fat into 2 pounds of muscle. If that makes sense.

Just a thought.
