Resistance & Patience

➖ Work from home, 8-5:30
❌ 5:30 am Wake up. 😕 not on purpose
➖ 6:15 am Get up. Why bother pretending?
✅ 7:30 am Meditation
✅ 11:15 am Workout
✅ 6 pm Meditation
✅ All homemade meals today.

Frustrating morning at work. Mine and everyone's patience is thread bare. UW Medicine has been a tough place to work through the COVID crisis, but I try to remember it's also inspiring. A poorly executed project is what's hacking me off this week, but usually I have loads more patience to smile and nod through it.

But not today. I tried to ignore my suppression of extreme annoyance, and therefore the whole first half of my workout was all tight and shallow breathing. Once I relaxed and admitted my feelings (in the middle of bag work), I felt a tiny prick of shame, but then cruised past the blockage... and the rest of the workout was on point.

Coach Lee asked today if I knew what I was resisting on days that I choose not to complete my goals for the day. I like the frame of that. I'm going to think about it that way in the coming weeks.
