My name is Maurene. I am a 51 year old mother of three, grandmother of 12! I have my own home business as a seamstress, and a superintendent of a small apartment complex with my boyfriend.
Have been living with my boyfriend since we were reunited almost four years ago, and am happier (in that respect) than I have ever been.
We enjoy camping, cooking, and reading.

Trying Different Things
I started out on Atkins, because I did it before. However, after a week of trying to get my partner to follow along with me, I realized he needed something different. I looked into other diets, and thought, YouSurprisedn a Diet would be a good choice. He wasn't too excited about that either. So, I asked him, "What would you agree to as an eating plan?" His response, "What I want, when I want." Sounds like an eight year old, doesn't he?
We have devised a new plan, that I hope will still work for me, and help him believe he really isn't on a diet.
Mainly, I will continue to count calories, eat more vegetables and fruit; red meat once a week, and consume 8 to 10 glasses of water. He will agree to oatmeal in the morning, but lunch is still a burger and a beer! Dinner isn't a problem, he enjoys most salads and vegetables. Dessert however, is another story! I could care less, and he thinks it is the most important course of the meal! His reward, shall we say, for working hard all day.
relationships are about compromise. Therefore, in return for a dessert every night after dinner (before 7pm) he has to go for a walk with me (between 7pm and 8pm) for at least 30 minutes, before he settles in for his "sofa surfing" time.Smile

Saving to My Cookbook
How do I save recipes to my cook book? I don't want to print all of them off until I've tried them. Saves on paper.

New Beginnings
I did this before, so I know I can do it again. However, this time I want it to be for the rest of my life! Last time I did it on my own, this time I'm going to rely on the help and support of this site, and the people here. There is no reason for me not to proceed with these changes. There are no physical reasons(and once I get moving)there will be no psychological reasons either!!
today is about cleaning out the old, and bringing in the new...
