17 February 2012

Having a great week, diet-wise. I've recorded everything I've eaten and only went over plan one day -- except for Sunday. I decided that Sunday was my indulgence day because I indulged on some serious candy. Ate a whole bag of gummy bears and some raspberry candies. YIKES!

But I don't think that I went over too much on Sunday -- and I've definitely made up for it since then with working out. I've worked out 10 times in 5 days (or it will be 10 times by tonight's soccer game). So, how come my morning weight is up almost 2 pounds??? GAH! I'm doing SO good. This always happens to me. When I have a good weigh-in (2 or more pounds) the next week, my weight goes right back up. Then it will go down in a week or two. It's so strange. Maybe the big WL wasn't accurate? Maybe I did something different that made my weight plummet? I just don't know.

All I know is that the closer I get to my goal weight, the slower the weight is coming off. And that's normal, I guess. It's something I've heard other people talk about when they get close to goal. But WHY ME? I'm special! :-)

What did I do differently this week that could be affecting my weight?
1) Increased work outs back to 2x a day.
2) Didn't drink enough water
3) I've been eating a lot of salty foods this week
4) I haven't been eating a lot of veggies like I normally do.
5) I suspect that I got glutinated the other day while eating out. Had a lot of ab pain yesterday.

With a clear head I know that any one of those things can cause water weight gain. And the gluten thing can cause a major bloat. I did also notice that yesterday.

Here's what I'm going to do differently this coming up week:
1) Cut back on the salty foods (no soy sauce and no added salt)
2) Eat more veggies - at least 2 more servings with lunch AND dinner
3) Drink 1 gallon or more of water every day.
4) Don't eat out this week.
5) Track everything -- even my indulgence day.
6) No indulgence day this week!

Oh boy! I'm just going to write yesterday down as an "indulgence" day. YIKES! But I've got a lot of catching up to do to get those extra calories off. Calories are SO much easier to put on than take off. Fortunately, I'm back to doing my 2x a day workouts. Last week's excuse was that I flipped my hot yoga to 6 a.m. This week -- no excuses. Just do it!!!

Today is turning into a typical Monday. Noah and I were late getting out of the house this morning. He didn't pack up last night and therefore had to struggle to remember everything this morning. Then when I got to the locker rooms here at work -- NO HOT WATER! Not just no hot water, but an abundance of icy cold water. I did a quick "ho bath" and then got dressed -- realizing that I forgot socks. So, instead of wearing my tennishoes without socks all day, I put my slippers back on. I wear shearling slippers to hot yoga. It's been over an hour since my shower and my fingers and toes are still freezing. I can't wait to go to the gym to reward myself with the hot tubs after my swim. Jeez Louise!

I'm really, really liking the hot power yoga. I'm pretty sure I like it better than Bikram. But I still want to go to Bikram because it's so deliberate on the body part you're working out.

That's enough for today!

Just had my yearly physical. Can't wait to see what my numbers are compared to this time last year. The hardest part was waiting until 10:00 a.m. to eat breakfast - especially since i got up at 5:00 a.m. and did hot yoga. That was the best tasting banana I've ever had in my life.

Today is the last day of my weight-loss week and I did pretty darn good all week. I'm a little nervous as to what my official weigh-in will show because I did my WI at home and au natrual last week. And I go to WW, so au natural isn't an option. Although it would make weigh-in a lot more interesting. I'm so close to hitting that 50 pound mark, but the pounds are just trickling off now. But I hear it does that the closer you get to goal -- just 4-ish more pounds to go!

I didn't run or swim all week. I really wanted to, but the adjustment to my workout schedule was hard to get used to this week. Therefore, I've decided that the swimming and running was put on hold this week on purpose while I adjusted to that new schedule. In fact, I'm actually glad that I did take a break and give my body time to catch up. 5 a.m. is awfully early.

I'm going to take my measurements this weekend (if I can find my tape measure...) and post my near-final stats.
