I had a good look at Diet Doctor's LCHF yesterday, and identified several mistakes we are making, particularly with hidden sugar, such as in milk. There goes our cappachino at the club with friends!
Also it said to eat vegetables that grow above the ground. No more sweet potatoes, and I hope the kohlrabi I added to dinner from the garden, along with silverbeet and kale, are OK. I also saw somewhere that eating the greens raw stops the effect of my thyroid medication..... we have been very strong on adding these greens to salads, but only the lettuce for me yesterday!
I do feel that I have more chance of losing some weight now, as I have not been a big eater.

Hello.
Somehow I lost track of My Fat Secret, and even though we try to eat healthy, virtually no sugar, wheat or processed foods for example my weight has gradually risen since my last entry here. We are now eating healthy fats.
I had a Buddy Request this week, which brought my thoughts back to this site.
I am now challenging myself to become involved again.

Hi friends, Hubby admitted to hospital about 30km from home yesterday and will have an op.
We had a letter from doctor he saw first thing, after an excruciating weekend, to Admissions Officer, but were directed to the emergency dept and spent the day there, and I came home just on dark, as I haven't driven in recent years. He phoned still in the emergency, about 11pm, after a specialist had seen him to ask if we could find the money for a laser operation, answer yes. They were very kind there and I have no complaints. I'll be heading over soon, but taking food for myself... the cafeteria was expensive, a 2 inch - half wrap $4.50 and no gluten free. I am not coeliac, but prefer not to eat wheat. I had far more nuts, dried apricots and fruit than I planned on when I got home and the scales up today.
I'm not planning on sharing this on my blog or FB..... it feels right to write what is going on here.
Trusting you will have a good week.
Love and blessings,
Jan
