Before, when I smoked, if I got hungry or had a craving- I would smoke a cigarette and the urge to eat a damn thing went away temporarily. However, now that I don't smoke, it's so hard not to have a bite of Des' dinner. When I'm counting calories, I try to plan and prepare my own meals; this means my kid gets some pre-packaged or easy to make dinners, like mac-n-cheese or frozen waffles, sausage, and maple syrup. Tonight- I did my usual- adding two more drinks than planned BUT also had 5 small spoons full of Kraft mac-n-cheese. So many calories. SO many wasted calories. Can I stop this terrible routine? habit? The drink is too hard to give up right now. I'm still really struggling with tobacco. I can't handle giving up both. I'm just not strong enough yet. I know I will be one day. But just not now. Maybe not this year. Maybe not ever.

I weighed myself on the scale at home and it said 190 and I thought, there's no way that's correct. However, it is in fact, correct. The heavy duty school scale also said 190. So, I'm at 190.

Well, it's groundhog's day for me. Like yesterday, I basically stuck with the plan except added two more drinks than planned. I know I can at least do what I did today again tomorrow but I will try to do better. Then we'll see.

I basically stuck to my plan the whole day. The only thing is- I had 2 more drinks than I planned and I substituted a cheese stick for a wasa crisp and turkey. I forgot to weight myself at school so I'll try tomorrow. My goal for January is to get comfortable with 1500 calories a day.

Well. Let's see where this will go. I have gained weight since a few summers ago when I was journaling and recording calories and activities. Besides not consciously watching what I've been eating/drinking I haven't been very active. Additionally, I quit smoking cigarettes and have been consuming more calories in their place. I'm not sure what I weigh, but I'll check in tomorrow on the professional scale in the health office at school. It's important to me to have a baseline of data so that I can measure how effective my efforts are. Actually, it's crucial. Without evidence of improvement over a short amount of time, I will give up. Once again, my main motivation for losing weight is a bikini. Let us not forget how shallow my intentions really are.
I have prepared my meals for the week except dinner which I will prepare fresh nightly. Even though FS says I'm at 99% calories for today, I think it's kinda high. However, I'll stick with this food diary for the next 5 days to see how it works out. After that I'll start to cut a thing or two out- like the cheese stick or peanuts.
I hope all my old FS friends are doing well. Cheers to all.
