I was 400 lbs when I became a type 2 diabetic in 2010. I lost 150 lbs shortly thereafter (took about a year) after proving to my Dr that I could drop my A1C in a month (10.1 fasting to 6.4 fasting). I was good for about 10 years. But due to a mental break and other life/health issues, I took a nose dive on taking care of me. Last year, I was put on Janumet after becoming ill on Metformin and began my journey with an Endocrinologist on Halloween.

I am a die-hard low-carber. Two months ago I thought I couldn't/wouldn't dive into the keto world or even go further into the ketovore/carnivore worlds. Well, the Fat Secret app has changed my thought patterns on that! The pie chart at the end of the Food tab really helps me stay focused on being high fat, moderate protein & low carb. Some days I'm bang on & other days I'm not but I also don't beat myself up over it either. But I have noticed I've flipped the switch on my cravings since starting this new road just over 2 months ago.

And in my postings, I will be including my daily fasting blood sugar numbers. It helps to keep me proactive on my health. Well that plus a whole lot more. I will be posting other things related to my personal health so that I can go back and review later on when I want. I figure when we share certain aspects in our journal, we not only help ourselves but can help other's too in all of our journeys. It will be a roller-coaster ride, that's for sure.

SIBO and IBS
I'm on the opposite end in that I have IBS-D and BAM (bile acid malabsorption). The IBS-D I have suffered chronically for about 10 yrs before finally getting the diagnosis mid last year. The BAM is a subset from the IBS-D and I have to take Cholestyramine for it but again I react badly in that I go straight into constipation and nothing moves in my system for weeks or until I stop taking it. Right now I am trying the Carnivore diet to get my body system a break and then plan to reintroduce foods, one at a time, to see what my culprits are. I've had to use my Cholestyramine once to ease the symptoms of the IBS-D/BAM but it seems to be working out so far.
We all have to figure out our bodies and see what works for them. What works for one person may not necessarily work for the next.
But for me this month I am eating anything/everything that comes from an animal/seafood. I am not eating anything that is vegetable, fruit, grain, seed oil.

Gluten Free
Look for Victoria's Keto Kitchen on You Tube. Her recipes will help you with being gluten-free.
Read labels when shopping for products. Promise Gluten Free is a bread company based out of Ireland whose products are good. For me though, they have become to high in carbs overall so I've had to eliminate it from my diet. But for someone who is transitioning to gluten-free it is a good start.
It's a challenge being gluten-free but the rewards outweigh the cons.

Carbs and blood glucose
Don't look at the pretzels as something you have to give up. Change your mindset and say ooh, my body doesn't like this and is causing a flare-up. Let's get rid of this for a few weeks and try it again. If I get the same response then I know this is bad for my body.

An alternative, if you can tolerate it, are Pork Rinds. I use Bakenets Pork Rinds to give me that crunch I'm missing but without all the unnecessary carbs/ingredients that my body doesn't tolerate. And yes I am a T2D but without insulin.

I also agree with 56Craig67, search out Dr. Ken Berry and his wife Neisha on You Tube. He has a lot of really good information there about one's diet. This month (January) is Carnivore Month so I too am giving it a proper go at it as well.

Eggs
I could be due to how the egg was recorded in the database itself. I looked up an egg and it came in at 70mg sodium, a boiled egg is at 139mg sodium but a fried egg came in at 238mg sodium. I'm not a scientist but perhaps our cooking methods change how the sodium occurs naturally. But if one fries an egg usually it's done in a salted fat of some kind.

Our different time zones is messing up my entries
I haven't found any way to permanently do what you are asking. But when I'm about to enter food items I go to the calendar first to make sure I'm on the current day before going to the Enter Food tab to enter in my information.
