welcome! i'm relatively new too. i joined the sight & spent the last day or two looking around & reading any tips i could find to start out my journey to weight loss. i think the first step is to make some short-term and long-term goals and choose a day where you're going to begin your diet. and if you ever fail, always remember tomorrow is a brand new day! good luck!!! =)

Hi! I'm pretty new to this site but I'm addicted to it! I come on everyday to read new posts and find any words of encouragement I can. But I would really like a buddy to help me through my journey to a healthier me.
I'm a senior in college (21 years old) & will be going to graduate school next year. I love food and often have difficulty thinking about the consequences. Instead my mind is focused on the current thing that is in front of me. I'm not much of a cook at all and usually really busy so I eat a lot of prepackaged and cafeteria food. I don't hate the gym & go whenever I have the energy & time for it. I have high cholesterol and big time confidence issues which I attribute to my weight. I would really like to build a healthier me that I can be comfortable in. Anyone with similar problems or who is or has been in this situation before? I would really love a supportive person to help me through the tough times and I would love to help in return! Smile

Watching weight when with your boyfriend??
So I know how to eat healthy foods and watch my weight. During the morning and afternoon, I do really well with eating proper meals and snacks and making sure I get my exercise in. Where I run into the problem is when I spend time with my boyfriend. We're usually together around meal times and all weekend. He is probably the anti-healthy eater. I'm in college and he doesn't have a high-paying job. Any tips on how I can stay focused on my goal, eat healthy, & get a little exercise in when I'm with him?? Smile

What was the 'lightbulb moment' that made you realize you needed to lose weight?
My mother took me shopping for some nice clothes back in October because I was beginning an internship in January. I was given all the clothes at Christmas. The night before my first day at the internship I tried to find an outfit from the new clothes. Almost none of them fit comfortably anymore! Then I got on the scale & found that I am now the heaviest I have ever been! So, today is my first day of REALLYYY making a change Smile
