Still don’t have my appetite back fully which is a very good thing! I found some ideas on meals from Pinterest from a lady who more or less followed the Nutrisystem plan but did her own food. Far as I can tell, NS is portion control and calorie control. Anyway, I made her French Toast this morning and had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. I couldn’t finish either which is SO unusual for me!

So this has been interesting for me to enter my food into a diary and keep up with calories as I go through the day. I am realizing some things. Like my breakfast today. I only had whole milk Greek yogurt on hand because I thought I was going to go on low carb diet (changed my mind). I also wanted to crumble up some oats and honey granola bar into it. In the past, I would have had a cup of yogurt and and 1 of the bars from the pack of 2. But NOW since I’m recording and paying attention to calories, I only had 1/3 cup of yogurt and 1/2 of one bar so that the whole snack was right at 100 calories. I have to say the whole milk Greek yogurt was SO much better than the non-fat yogurts I usually eat. I mean it was delicious. I have decided it is worth it to have the whole milk yogurt and eat less of it. Crumbling up 1/2 of the granola bar was plenty. It turns out the small portion was enough.
The entire day has been like that. Starting to eat healthy food but a larger portion and then realizing the calorie count and then decreasing it to a smaller portion. Now, I hope I can handle dinner and night-time eating the same way and stay under. I am still trying to learn how to navigate this website but I am learning from reading others’ posts.

I do not know where this journal entry goes! I haven’t been on the site much but I want to start using it. I’m mainly writing this to myself to try to figure out what I am doing wrong and what I need to do next. I realize this would be very boring for anyone else so if it appears somewhere, please don’t wonder why I’m going into so much detail.
I had lost a little over 25 pounds by October of 2018. THEN, the holidays came and all the Jan and Feb family birthdays. By the end of February, I had put on 8 pounds. I have been trying to get back to losing but I think I have fallen into my old trap which is bouncing back and forth between low-carb and a Weight Watchers type diet. Even now, I want to try the Target diet challenge which starts here shortly but I KNOW I will have to also watch calories. Something in my head switches when I go on low-carb and I eat too much cheese and heavy calorie foods. From what I have been reading lately, low carb I supposed to dull you appetite so that you eat less but it really isn’t ‘all you want to eat’.
Anyway, I’m going to try to get back to what was working for me before. I’m pretty mad for allowing myself to gain some weight back. All I know is that I have to catch it NOW before it gets out of hand. I’m still at a 20 pound loss and I want to build on that.
I was looking at other support apps and some cost quite a bit of money but this Fat Secret site looks just as good so I want to become more involved here.
