Been a busy week as per, but in a very different way. I'm usually sitting at my desk most of the day, but my parents are now here and the run up to Christmas has begun. Taking them shopping and generally running about has kept me on the go physically as well as mentally and I didn't use any weekly WW points - a couple of days I didn't even use all my daily ones either. Trying to put Xmas decs up before my grandsons visit tomorrow is a marathon task, but at least it will be done and dusted instead of dragging on for days (I put a lot of stuff up!!). I still have present shopping to do - it gets harder and harder each year to choose things. I have no idea what to get my old man - he wanted a helicopter ride, but after three crashes in the past year over here, one of which killed a friend of my son, there's no chance he's having one of those. It's a headache, but it really is nothing compared to all those who are displaced through disaster and war. Maybe we'll donate to charity again instead of buying each other gifts.

losing 3.0 lb a week

I did it!! My interim goal was to lose 28lbs before the 1st Dec when my parents arrive from Cyprus and this week's solitary pound loss has done it. Doing Happy Dance! Now for as much as I can lose before we go back with my parents on the 8th Jan for a week's holiday. I promised myself that the next time I went there I would not weigh what I did the last time (Easter 2012) which was a few pounds less than my start weight this time. Glad I won't be letting myself down on that score. :0D

losing 1.0 lb a week

Back to 2lbs this week! yay! I think the secret for me could be ignoring my extra weekly points for the most part - I used a few this week, but the majority were still left, which was what I had been doing before I slowed down over the past two weeks. I didn't use all of them then, but I used a lot more and, unless it was some other unlikely blip, that must have slowed my progress. I wanted to lose 28lbs before the 1st Dec, when my parents arrive from Cyprus for the holidays so, fingers crossed, I'll just do it.

I seem to have slowed to a pound a week loss over the past couple of weeks since the weather turned colder here - I'll take it, but I was enjoying the two pounds per week loss up to now. Still losing so can't complain. Potassium supplement for cramp seems to be making it worse and it's given me acid so will stop that and carry on with magnesium; haven't drunk as much water for the past two days so back to that - it really is a trial for me as I have never been a big drinker of any kind. I feel thinner than my weight if that makes sense; my trousers are all getting too big for me, which is making me happy even though it's making my purse wince at the thought of replacing them! Now at the worst part of my annual nightmare of doing company accounts, which means a very great deal of sitting in one place, so dear old Jane Fonda and my poor dusty cross trainer will have to get me moving and mobile and will hopefully shake my weight loss up again to two pounds a week. I'll get there by hook or by crook!

One thing I hadn't anticipated was the leg and foot cramps which are apparently common with the low carb w.o.e. I used to get them as a younger version of myself and have had them infrequently over the years, mostly due to dehydration, which is some of the problem now - I have to drink more water, which I don't particularly like. I've been reading up on this and now have magnesium and calcium supplements to add to all the others I already take and also add lo salt to my water for the potassium. Adding more sea salt is weird after years of avoiding the stuff, but I'll do anything to get a good night's sleep and not be woken up by painful muscle spasms at stupid o'clock. It's not going to put me off though. Low carb is here to stay for me whatever.
