KARMA IS...



out to get me. Last week I bitched and moaned about only losing a pound. Well, how's this for a bite in the butt. That pound I lost came back. Anyway, I'm trying to not spend so much time online and I'm attempting to have a life instead. Which today included a trip to 2 different post offices-neither of which could help me, a visit to the locksmith shop, a trip and lots of money to the grocery store, insufferable amount of time on hold with my cell phone company for something so small, but I couldn't take care of the problem once I got through because I don't know the last 4 digits of my husband's SSN and he isn't answering his calls or texts so that's a problem for later. Now back to the locksmith to pick up the mailbox lock that the post office requires me to use, but doesn't supply keys for. The last tenant lost the key so now I get to fork over $25 for a new key. Blah today, just blah.
At least it's gorgeous outside which means all of the parking spaces where I live will be taken when I get back by beach goers. We only get one reserved space in the garage and my husband has the car that goes there. Oh joy.

Grateful for:
New measurements. At least those numbers are getting a bit smaller. I still don't know if I'm measuring in exactly the same spot from week to week though.

A 3 1/2 inch difference from last week. I'm hoping all the extra exercise is building some muscle and that's the reason I'm not seeing the numbers on the scale go down.

This past weekend I didn't check in much here. I think I need to give myself an occasional break from logging every little thing. It's becoming a bit obsessive for me I think. I'm going to go back and try to fill in my food journal as much as I can, but if I can't remember every little thing I will forgive myself. Sunday I did really well and that's because Saturday I did not. Saturday I decided to have a little cocktail out on the balcony with my husband and I was rooting around in the kitchen looking for a mixer. There's plenty o' liquor in the apartment but not much to mix with. The hubster likes vodka on the rocks with olives so he's usually good to go. I prefer it mixed with something. I found a diet rootbeer so I had Mt Gay rum (the best rum imho) and carefully measured out one ounce and went out on the balcony to have a nice conversation and watch the cruise ships leave port in Ft Lauderdale. Well, that first rum went down a little quickly (and rum and rootbeer=awesome, who knew?) so I was back in the kitchen looking for anything to mix another drink with. Yay. Found some diet tonic shoved way back in the corner of the fridge so I took that out and measured out an ounce of vodka and mixed another cocktail and went back out to the balcony while the hubster had another vodka himself and a cigar. That drink didn't go down as quickly, but was still mighty tasty. After our little cocktail hour we had dinner and watched a bad movie which I fell asleep to. When I woke up Sunday morning I felt absolutely awful! I have a hard time believing that the woman who could drink like a sailor on leave had a hangover from 2 itty bitty ounces of high quality liquor, but I did.
Sunday was a bit of a detox for me. Lots of water and very low carb. We spent the day sitting on the beach with a bazillion other people and relaxing and drinking plenty of pure fresh water. I managed to get my thighs sunburned so I'm back to waddling again, but at least this time it's out of pain and not because my thighs rub together when I walk. I'm hoping my sunburn doesn't hamper my walk today or Callanetics, but I'm sure it will.
