FIRST GOAL REACHED!!!!!

Settled on 235 for my second goal, knowing full well that a third is on the horizon. I am 3/4 done with my Sober31. I haven't had an ounce of booze since March 31 and I feel amazing in that regard, especially because the weight seems to be melting off. I am also so much more alert and motivated throughout the day. Not saying I will never have another sip or that I didn't white-knuckle it on a few occasions when the kids had me running full bore after them, but it's past time to shake the excess poundage. Though I know full well that if I lose it too fast, it may not stay off (also might be the wrong composition). Primarily because I'll fall into "Mission Accomplished" mode and inch away from FS, particularly from tracking/logging intake. Been there, done that (do the cool kids still say that or am I getting old?).

On the other hand, it takes a lot of daily calories to approach 3 bills. Been there, done that as well.

Going camping, hiking and fishing this weekend with my 6 year old Cub Scout. He has a baseball game in the morning so we will be busy, but it should be a good time out in nature to keep my dopamine levels elevated. I'll miss the Bruins tomorrow night but that's why they invented DVR. I don't watch too much live TV anymore as it is.

Have a nice weekend, All!!

One pound away from my initial goal!!!

I weighed in on Friday, but did not record it until today. I had the day off with my kids and I did not have practical access to a computer all weekend. I really don't like typing my journals on a phone or tablet.

I went to my parents for Easter and did not track anything yesterday...on purpose. It's always an exercise in grazing whenever I go home, so I had planned to make it a "cheat" day and get back on my horse today. I had a pretty decent sized Easter dinner: chicken marsala, glazed ham, antipasto, potato casserole, and shrimp, not to mention Chinese takeout the evening before.

Besides coffee (okay, and some pizza gain), Easter dinner was pretty much the only thing I had yesterday. My sister drove up with her family from New Jersey, and wanted to beat the traffic, so we ate early, watched the Celtics sweep the Pacers and headed home ourselves late afternoon. I watched the Bruins off the DVR last night, sipping at a couple glasses of home brewed iced tea (no mix).

I stepped on the scale this morning and to my surprise, I am at my goal right now. So I am expecting a good number on Friday. We shall see.

Inching down, little by little, week by week. The needle read lower yesterday morning, which leads me to believe I have some water to work out of my system today.

I say it that way instead of thinking I was dehydrated because my oldest's school PTO held a pasta dinner fundraiser last night and I had at least one helping of white pasta which kicked my sodium and carbs into the 3.5 and 160 gram ranges, respectively (continual goal to stay near or under 2 and 100 grams/day, respectively). Having a wrap for lunch on my way back from shockwave treatment to work didn't help either.

On a positive note, I can restart my martial arts training, with the caveat of, "If it hurts, stop." Also I am on day 12 of my sober 31 and feeling amazing in that regard.

I will WBNR (Weigh But Not Report) tomorrow to see where I stand and hopefully I will reach where reach my 1st goal by Easter. If I am lower, I'll happily take credit next Friday.

Have a good weekend, All!!
