I have no appetite this morning. Not really sure why. I think my stomach isn’t awake. I ate my Jenny Craig® Cinnamon Roll. I need to get up and cut my apple so I can get my first fruit in. I am officially past the first 5 lbs. The challenge is just around the corner. I believe in about 10-15 lbs that’s when it will get tricky. Maybe. If I am lucky it will be the 200 lbs mark that starts the first hurdle. My metabolism is naturally slow. It always has been. It takes a great deal of effort to get it and keep it high performing. I take drink and take green tea caplets to help boost my metabolism, along with Apple Cider Vinegar tablets.

According to Healthline.com, they have a list of 10 Easy Ways to Boost Your Metabolism, which include:

1. Eat plenty of protein at every meal
2. Drink more cold water
3. Do a high-intensity workout
4. Lift heavy things
5. Stand up more
6. Drink green tea or oolong tea
7. Eat spicy foods
8. Get a good night’s sleep
9. Drink coffee
10. Replace cooking fats with coconut oil

Most of this I knew or learned about back in 2009, either by research or self-discovery. Looking at this I have decided I am missing a protein food this morning. I think I’ll have one of my hard boiled eggs this morning rather than on my salad later, since I am getting protein from my lunch anyhow.

That was spicy! I just finished my Jenny Craig® Country Sausage Gravy Scramble (http://www.jennycraig.com/site/shop/product/country-sausage-gravy-scramble). There’s black pepper in it. I can’t decide if it’s that or the Excedrin that has me awake. I should be a zombie right now. I didn’t fall asleep until shortly after midnight, and then I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to start my day.
I purchased a new scale this week. It’s a Bluetooth Body Fat Scale, by multifunUS. A Digital Bathroom Scale with Body Composition Monitor, Smart Scale with Healthy Weight Loss Tracking App. I got it on Amazon for $36.99. So far so good! Really down to the exact measurements and things I never thought to think about.
I also got a probiotic and some green tea extract pills. Why? Well I got sick twice in one month and got put on two antibiotics. My colon has not been happy, so I needed to balance my flora to help digest my food better. As for the green tea extract pills: back in 2009, I used to drink gobs of green tea. It’s a great fat burner. Sometimes I don’t remember or have time to have a hot cup of tea and I am not really an iced tea drinker. I got the green tea extract pills to supplement the green tea I drink when I can’t get around to it.
I plan to sleep like a baby tonight. After work I am going home and packing a couple of boxes (we’re moving to a healthier environment), and then I plan to walk for 30 mins.
This first week on my diet has been great. The quick loss has made me excited. I know it will be short lived momentum, but I know I got what it takes to surpass any negative challenges ahead of me. I got this!
