Heading for a beautiful day up here! The ice is melting and floating down the canal. That's a good sign. Taking full advantage of the sunshine and going to scrub down the chimney and arch stones on what remains of the burnt house. DH is meeting with potential contractors today, and getting the be boiler/heater thingy delivered: The Heatmaster---sounds so impressive. Supposed to be a beast of a heater. Arms can be attached to circulate water and heat our hot water tank in the winter- as opposed to using propane. And, a second arm can be run out to the cattle and horse paddocks to circulate hot water under their respective tanks- which eliminates the need for electric water heaters during the long winters here. I am geeked about that.
This is all good stuff that is happening. I am just a little slow getting a move on today...as I worked so long and hard yesterday- raking, shoveling and hauling wheelbarrows full of mess into the excavation area. I worked for about 7 hours, only taking breaks for a drink of Vitamin Water Zero. I really wasn't too hungry all day. I got a couple pizzas for the fam, and only ate the toppings- cheese and mushrooms. My back went out early evening, and so I had to come home, suck down some Bayer Back and Body, then lay flat on the hard sofa for a few hours. Still sore, but I gotta get the job done. So, off I go!
Sticking to clean eats today too. Might grab a large Greek salad for lunch - or early dinner. Had that in my head for a couple days now. Well, have a happy Friday all!!!! =)

So, I have to qualify my food journal for anyone peeking at it. After I drove 45 mins, and dropped my teenagers off for their SAT test this morning at 8am, I took my youngest daughter on an all-day adventure to our "big city" another 90 mins away. We had breakfast at Perkins. I cannot find the all-veggie omelette on the FS menu, so I hit the "everything Omelette". The NC's are over what I know I had.
Then, in order to make it home early enough, and not starve, I got some McNuggets- at the request of my 10 yo. I tend to peel the coating off- so I haven't a clue what the real NC's would have been there. We are extremely limited up here with restaurants, so, sometimes, ya just gotta improvise and make things work.
I walked so much today, I think my legs are going to fall off. Menards for 3 or 4 hours; Lowe's for 2-3 hours; TJ MAXX for and hour. I had to visit these places and gather pricing and ideas for the rebuild. After all that, I drove 2 hours to get back to our old home site, and sort through all the ashes. Still finding precious photos of my Grammie, kids, etc. =) Happy, but exhausting day. Blessings to you all!
