I have eaten terribly this week. I was PMS and couldn't get enough chocolate in my mouth. At least I cleaned it up mid-week and didn't have any lasting effects. It's amazing how yucky you feel when you aren't eating properly. Back to lots of spinach , salads, and protein!

What about that time makes us want chocolate? I am on phase 3 so I have a bit of dark when it hits me or a good chocolate whey smoothie.

Jasmine..I hear ya on the PMS and craving chocolate! I had my week last week. I was craving salt though!! It was tough to resist.. I did allow a handful of chips and then threw the whole bag away (sorry kids!)

Chocolate is rich in magnesium. Cravings during TOM indicate your body is needing magnesium. ALG recommends magnesium aspartate or asporotate as the most bio-available form. Start with 400mg. Additionally, some folks need more lean protein during TOM. Try adding 2-3 oz of protein during menses. =)
