Feel your pain. Not that I have mastered this but many people suggest that we use other ways to track progress as weight can fluctuate for multiple reasons. Use a piece of clothing you can yet fit or measure yourself. If the scale doesn't reflect the change you're wanting but you can fit those smaller size jeans, then you're making progress. I keep trying not to be a slave to the scale but it is tough.

Thanks kmking40, I have become a slave to the scale. And I am wearing a pair of pants that I could not fit into a month ago. So not so frustrated not! Thanks again!

I took a peep at your profile and was unable access your food journal. Are you logging your meals? I'm diabetic too and tracking my meals has helped me maintain control of my glucose levels. I have heard that weight loss is 80% diet. NSV (Non Scale Victories) are important too. Enjoy them, stay focused and keep trying. You will get there...

I haven't lost weight in a year but I am getting leaner. if the scale is important then log your meals , determine your base , then cut your calories by 20 percent. dump the carbs and keep your fat calories high. my fat consumption is about 68 percent and protein is about 20 percent , making carbs about 12 percent. the hardcore dieters are are dropping carbs much lower.

Are you Type I or II? I was recently diagnosed t2d. I don't take any t2d meds or insulin (yet). Lowering carbs and moderating protein, while increasing fats, has helped me lose 30lbs in 3.5 months.

Hang in there, James. I never could lose and keep it off till I started the Keto Diet 3 weeks ago. I’m down 21 pounds. I’m doing the Keto Diet for beginners by the diet doctor online. My hubby has joined me. You are working so hard. It will pay off.

James, I feel your frustration...in our society gaining weight is much easier than losing weight and/or maintaining weight loss. It is awesome that you've upped your daily exercise, as consistent daily exercise (even just walking) will help your body recover insulin sensitivity but for sure diet is really the key. I am convinced that you can reverse or at least minimilize T2D...I know it based on watching others here on Fat Secret and also for myself. Wishing you success going forward and if you want some tips and tricks, just ask. Take care!!
