I am sick sick sick and it's affecting my grand plans of weight loss.
I was going to get rotisserie chicken to bring home for dinner since I got paid today. Didn't happen.
Figured maybe I'd have a smoothie for dinner instead. Great right?
Not! Right before I got home I got the chills like nobody's business. Walking through 90° heat to the house with goose bumps and shivering.
Screw the smoothie. I'll have microwave burritos because it's fast and hot and the sooner I eat the sooner I can shower and sleep.
Planned to shower for five minutes. Sat down in the hot water for half an hour and almost fell asleep.
Currently in bed early again for night two, praying I sleep better than the last two nights

Chicken soup! Bone broth, LOL breakfast, lunch and dinner! The kind with onions and garlic and salt and other good electrolytes in it! There was a reason it was considered healthy! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lots of sleep is the best thing you could possibly do for yourself now. And hey -- a bean burrito at the right moment never hurt anyone too much. Feel better soon!

Hopefully the water and sleep will help, and today you will be feeling better. When the kids or I got sick, I would put Vicks on the feet, chest, and throat. Put on thick socks and get into bed. For some reason, it worked. Pulled the sickness right out. Not sure what putting it on the feet has to do with it, but if I didn't put it on, and the socks, it didn't work nearly as well. Just an old home remedy. The other remedy I know of is a cowboy remedy, it involves a bottle of whiskey and a cowboy hat. I wouldn't recommend that one. Lol. But it interested, let me know. I'd be happy to pass it on. I wish you better health. Working while not feeling well is tough. I hope you are better today. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

EmTheQueen, I do understand your illness. I was sick almost like that for about three days and now am really feeling a lot better. Even enough to do my Yoga. So, take care, rest, rest, rest, that is what I did and even tho I felt like I should be up, and wasn't I am now, and going strong. You really need to take care of you, especially when you are feeling ill and really working at losing weight. Hand in there, you will get better.

The other thing to remember when you are losing weight is that some of the toxins in our systems are fat soluble. There was a 2009 study by the NIH and the percentage of PEOPLE who had been exposed to toxins and tested positive had increased from 98 to 100% in 5 years. These were toxins that were fat soluble and stayed in the body. So as you lose, these toxins WILL be released. Magnesium is the mineral your body uses to help clear toxins from your system.

smprowett, now that does really make sense. I had never heard that and it does help to explain why when I am really watching my food intake, I get sick. So now I know I am not really sick, just getting rid of toxins. Thank You for the information!!!!!
