I've been avoiding getting on here, since I seem to be in a deadly cycle of lose 3 gain 3 - fluctuating from 223 to 226 and back again.

But I really do need to start recording every day! Definitely helps me to get real with what I'm doing.

226.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 86.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
gaining 0.7 lb a week

Hey Heather, Just thought I'd give you some suggestions to try to help you with the "binge" eating and sabotage. Have you considered Volumetrics? It is possible for you to eat as much as it takes to feel full and still lose weight! What you need to do is look at eating low calorie dense foods. This means you need to remove/restrict the puddings, large portions of meat, breads, and replace it with more fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables have a high water content which makes them low in calories and low in fat. By eating more foods that are high in water content, you will keep the full feeling going and not feel the need to snack more. Also, you need to remove the soda and replace it with water. Sure, soda can taste good, but it does too much to your body to help you with losing weight. My meals for a day: Breakfast: 2 cups of cereal and 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk. Lunch: 1 package of Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced vegetables and 1 cup of Dole Fruit in 100% fruit juice (DO NOT GET IT IN SYRUP!). Dinner: 1 Cafe Steamer (Healthy Choice) and 1 cup Dole Fruit. Snacks: Handful of jelly beans (maybe a candy bar or some more fruit.) It's not bad to have a candy bar once in a while as a treat. You just have to keep in mind your calorie intake and fats. One of the biggest things to fix cholesterol (without that bad medication) is eating fruits and vegetables high in fiber (oranges, raspberries, pineapple, etc.) The change in your choices alone can give you the start in the weight drop you want. Throw in strenuous exercise (like running on the treadmill with an incline or playing tennis) will help you even more. But you need to make the choice to continue. (BTW, I haven't checked in my weight yet.. but I've lost 10 lbs in the past 2 weeks.)

Thank you for the suggestions. I don't eat a lot of fruit, I'll admit it. I'm usually switching between calorie counting and cutting out breads/sugar. I'll admit I'm addicted to my soda, but I do now drink nearly 64 oz of water (although flavored) a day. So I'm trying to compensate for my bad drinking habit! As for strenuous exercise, I'm working on it - currently in PT for a bad knee, but I am trying to get to the gym 3 times a week for some exercise, and play volleyball once a week for more strenuous exercise. Congratulations on the excellent weight loss!

Hi girls congratulations both of you on wanting to lose weight. I am fortunate in that I don't really have alot to lose but it's still a struggle. I have a job that I sit down all day long at a desk at a computer so during the day I can only go out at lunch and do a half hour walk. I also have to be very strict with what I put in my mouth because everything counts for me. I look at the calories on everything. I buy low fat cheese and have that as a snack Finlandia Swiss 57 calories a slice and also buy only low calorie English muffins, 90 calories for one. I 'll eat that along with the cheese most days and a lowfat yogurt 90 calores for the Stop & Shop brand and it comes in so many flavors! Always have a fruit for a snack in the middle of the morning. Either an apple a pear or some grapes. I buy tons of fruit each week so that I always have some on hand. Most das I excersise in the morning as well. I have a treadmill and I do eith 15-20 monutes a day and then if the weathe is good we go out for a walk at night for another 35 minute walk as well. I have learned to cut down on my meat portions to a fraction of the size of what I. No frying or cooking with butte if I can avoid it and only small amounts of oil when cooking. Salads are my favorite thing in the world and I eat lots of them. Every day for lunch and even for dinner. Well good luck and may we all lose the weight we want. PS I can't eat chocolate the way I used to. I used to have bags of chocolate every where and now there is nothing. Once in a great while is ok to have a piece but I do get carried away so I can't keep it in the house or at work too tempting.
