Chris1979's Journal, 16 February 2010

Back to work today. Like many people, feeling money stresses as of late. Salem had exploratory surgery about a month ago and his portion of the bill after insurance is over $1,000. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the bill. We are seriously considering trading in his car (he spends $500+ per month between premium gas, his car payment, and insurance) this coming weekend. It would greatly help our household cash flow if he got something cheaper. I just hope his car is worth more than what he owes.

Why am I divulging all of this? Well, the financial stress triggered my eating to comfort myself last night. I had two rum and cokes and ate some chocolate icing straight out of the container. Then I had some WW mint chocolate chip ice cream on top of all that! I'm having a "low" day today. Healthy foods ONLY.

THREE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR TODAY:
1)My emergency savings account- needed it this month!
2)Suze Orman for inspiring me to open that account
3)The hope of a tax refund in the near future!

Have a great day friends! :)

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your stresses. I definitely know that panic feeling when you open the bill. And I am starting to work next week, primarily to pay off my dentist bill (and some other debts, too). I have an emergency savings account but I need to raid it almost every single month. :( I made the automatic transfer lower the other day, hoping that if it's lower I won't miss the $ as much. Have a good healthy day!

Automobiles are becoming so expensive to maintain these days. I too am quite familiar with stressors triggering our appetites. Don't look at my journal today. :-)

Money issues are always hard. Just remember to seperate them with the rest of your life, know what I mean? Don't let it bring you down to much!

Chris somehow I missed your journal yesterday. Being a single mother with no other income except my own all these years has put me in a bind too. I know it can really make you sick to worry about it so try not to worry too much. It is not worth your health. I hope you have a worry free day today. Money sucks but unfortunately seems to be what makes this world go round.
