So frustrating! Not sure if this is a normal fluctuation, or water retention from taco salad night (low sodium seasonings), or the increase in activity and exercise! BUT... I will not be discouraged! I will keep on keeping on... and see where a full month of this Fitbit takes me.

All good things take time ;) And I am worth the investment!

Just wish I didn't have these stupid blips to deal with. These last few pounds are brutal!

Much Love!!!!

I know what you mean- I'm still at the beginning of my journey and I started exercising and gained weight. Guess it's the fluid retention of my muscles. That's what someone shared with me. Way to go on your weight loss! Love the attitude!

I have questions - try to ignore the scale before you answer: How do you feel? Are your jeans getting tight, fingers and ankles swollen? Or do you feel tight and toned? Perhaps you are "gaining weight" in the right places?

Paula, I was just thinking something similar the other day....that these last pounds are positively BRUTAL! When I began this journey, I thought that the middle third of the journey would be most difficult with slowed losses and still so far to go, but this last bit is the biggest test and puzzle of the entire journey. But, you know what? Not a whole lot of people ever get this far on a long journey, having lost this amount of weight. So, we never hear about these challenges because so few really make it here. You're a trailblazer, Paula, and I don't for a minute, think you won't find your way to your goal. Remember your focus is on health and I'd say you've got that goal made in the shade, 100%!!

I think Buffybear has a good point.... How do you "feel" in your clothes. When I look back (more years than I care to calculate) I was 20-28 pounds lighter.. But my legs are slimmer now, than they were then - because i now exercise.

Paula...I so understand your frustration and I am not even close to my goal. Sorry for the blip, but you will work it out I am sure. Have a great day. Love and hugs, my friend!

Very wise words ladies. I am definitely going to keep working out because I need it and desire it now. Getting healthy has become an obession almost- and although I am still at the beginning, I am trying to learn everything from everyboody. I just like to sit back and read what others are eating, doing for fitness, etc. and experiment. As for me, the clothes fitting differently hasn't changed yet I don't think. Although, looking at my legs- I wish I had records of when I was 30 pounds heavier so I knew how many inches I've lost everywhere. Those stats aren't on FS, but I've already lost 30 pounds before FS and maintained since April 2011 which is big in my book. Anyhow, this blog is about Paula, so again, way to go, and I hope to look to you as well as my other FS friends for motivation and pointers! You're so close that there's no stopping you now!

Sometimes I think we need to think how would we respond to someone in our situation....I know, Paula, that you would be there cheering that person on telling them how exercise and muscle, etc. can cause weight gains...and to think about just how much healthier and better they feel. So,my dear, even though you have had a blip....Paula would say, "keep on focus, keep doing what you are doing, and one of these days the reward will be yours!" You would also follow all your good advice up with a "Big Hug and Much Love." Here's back to you....

MamaShea - might be my name at the top, but this journal is for you..and me... and anyone who can learn something from it!!! OK - I am firmly cheered up...and YES I feel great, Buffy! No bloating. No feelings of water retention. Course I haven't poo'd in two days, so that could be my issue (probably TMI) LOL! But I did exercise this morning, and I am almost 1/2 way to my daily 10,000 steps - my class starts tonight w/ my fellow church members, totally excited about that!!! So I am not letting this little blip send me into 'mental overload' as I have before. Just recording it to be honest w/ myself as today is my weekly weigh in day. Love all the support though... and love all of you!!! Now, go do something productive w/ your day! Much Love.

Thanks Paula- totally agree! I just started working out at Curves so I burned 393 calories today! Pretty stoked about that. Tomorrow morning @ 5:15am (God help my soul) is Zumba Curves. One of these days I hope I can be like you ladies and buy that FitBit. Birthday is coming up so maybe, I could ask for it. Who knows.... I have a bad time with bloating, do any of you have advice on that? Like, as soon as I eat something, there goes my belly-literally! I can wake up with my stomach looking kinda flat and then I eat or drink and....anyhow, just curious if you ladies have found something that works???? :-)

Glad to see you feel cheered up. You are so close to your goal - how terrific is that. I go to my weekly Bible study on Thursday and I'm looking forward to it. What church class are you taking?

Have to say I agree with Gwen...and glad you are not too down...can't wait to be in your position, so close to goal (infact you are under my goal)...and dreading it at the same time. I hope I am blessed with your attitude when it's my turn XXX

Di - you will be! I believe it!! And Andrea - I am teaching a class or rather, facilitating a support group - much like this site, only LIVE and in person! And MamaS- the only thing I can say about the bloat, is drink your water all day, every day! It comes and goes, but I haven't found a surefire way to keep it down or flat looking. Sometimes I can drink so much water and look like I am 5-6 months pregnant! OH, that makes me think of Squiggs! Hope she is well!!! Prayers to her... Much Love Ya'll.
