September 2016 - I have hit rock bottom. The fat clothes I bought to accept how much i weighed are no longer fitting, and it is getting to a point where I would soon have to go shopping in a special store. I have had enough of short term happiness eating burgers, fries, pizza, donuts, pastry, breads, chips, and beer like no tomorrow is here and it is time to fix this.

I have gone 8 months and 21 days without smoking, so hopefully I can invest the same energy losing weight. I am a total junk food addict, emotionally addicted to sugar foods, and a total fast food junkie.

I have done this before - I have the clothes to prove it! My biggest focus will be what I eat, but I will try and become more active. In 14.5 months I will turn 45, and when I do I am hoping to be at my goal weight of 165lbs.

Here goes nothing!
262.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 97.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

You can do this. ABSOLUTELY!!!! I too am a food addict. Take a peek at me back in January and look at me now (look at my food logs). I still eat crap foods, NOT every day and NOT in huge quantities. I move my body more and eat less. Get focused, don't beat on yourself when you screw up because you will. Don't have cheat days, a screw up meal here an there will not affect you if you are making it count 80% of the time. That's my story. Let's go Adam!!!

Of course you can! After years of dieting, I STOPPED and I actually lost weight. I eat everything, nothing is off limits and I watch portions. Wishing you tons of success!

You sound like me...all or nothing. Either I go crazy with junk or I'm super strict. either way I'm miserable. It's all about a balance. First, CONGRATS ON QUITING SMOKING!!! That is a HUGE accomplishment. Don't forget to pat yourself on your back for conquering that goal. Second, sugar is a major addiction. It should be treated as such. Do NOT stop everything cold turkey. Focus on one thing a day. For example, if you're a heavy pop (soda) drinker, then start with cutting out pop. If you try to do it all at once, it will be discouraging and you'll want to quit. You got this!!! :)
