NowIunderstand's Journal, 10 April 2016

I've made a connection between budgeting/managing my money by writing all expenses down and doing the same for my food intake. I've accepted that it's the way to go to not overload on portions, and for the rest of my life. I call it self-management tools. Of course, eating healthy has to be part of the equation to ward off binges, and never ending cravings. (not to be mixed up with true hunger, which is manageable - cravings, on the other hand, drive me nuts)

Truth be told, I was often hungry in the evening, with little or no calories left. I live with it. I'm thinking it's the price I'm paying for overeating in the past. And, also, I see it as a window to the half of the world that does go to bed hungry and not because they are dieting...making this an opportunity to be grateful for what I have.

Interesting fact: Cameron Diaz was on Dr. Oz, and said she drinks a liter of water every morning on waking up. I tried it for the heck of it. It does bring you somewhat back to life..

Have a good Sunday Buddies!.

I find I feel better when I drink water first thing in the morning too!

I find it hard to tell whether the hunger I feel is 'real', or whether it's just due to habits. I have to think about what I've eaten, and how long ago. However I do believe habits can be unlearned, for example I've learned not to eat chocolate while watching television. It was a habit, it was hard to unlearn it, but now it's fine, I don't get that craving any more.

i read that hunger pangs are not a sign of hunger, but salivating is. (Dr. Fuhrman' I think also, there's a feeling of not feeling 'stuffed' that can fell like hunger, or uneasiness. Not use to the feeling and it's bothersome. I've taken to drinking water in the evening, and I feel it helps a lot.
