Good Morning!

We have snow today ... wet snow. We'll see if it lasts. It is supposed to drop down to single digit temperatures at night tomorrow night. Could be interesting.

First day of radiation went well. He will be done by the end of February. So, the count down has begun. I am working on NOT worrying about him driving everyday there and back. I will get lots of practice working on staying in the moment!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are all much appreciated.

I'm one lb. above where I was on my New Year's Eve weigh-in. I feel good about that. One day into the 7 day challenge and yesterday went well with my personal goals for that challenge. Sort of fun to have a challenge that only lasts 7 days!!

Today ... I am grateful for

1. a smooth "first day" of radiation therapy for Bob
2. being more and more able to stay "in the moment" while at the same time still looking forward to things
3. coffee, coffee, and more coffee!!!
4. my pedometer which makes me mindful of how much I am moving my body throughout the day
5. being able to easily pick out clothes to wear every morning instead of being frustrated about items that are too small for me!!

It seems time passes so quickly. I can relate to Info's comment on my journal yesterday, something about waking up and suddenly realizing ten years have passed!! It is hard for me to comprehend that it is really 2010. I remember 1970 so clearly ... 1980, 1990 ... well you get the idea. What a big deal it was to go from 1999 to 2000 and now that is already ten years ago? It reminds me how important it is for me to appreciate NOW. Have a wonderful day ...

I love your number 5! Me too--never realized how much stress that added to my day until it was gone. I am glad Day 1 of radiation and the challenge went well for you and Bob. I hope the weather cooperates with you today and you have a good one.

You are so right. TIme sure does march on. I am glad all went smoothly yesterday and I know what you mean about it being great just to put your clothes on in the morning without trying on a dozen things. Enjoy your day today and of course I love your 5!

I am glad the first day went smoothly! My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope I can get to the point of your #5 someday in the near future... my pant zippers and I fight everyday!

Glad everything went OK yesterday. Snow here again today and temperature was minus 10 when we left this morning and has not risen above minus 2 all day. Definitely crunchy

As always: Great five! Love the last one. That is such a good feeling. I was so stubborn last year that I refused to buy a bunch of big clothes and so spent way to long wearing things that, I'm sure, made me look like an overstuffed sausage. Now some of my stuff is too big but that is a much better problem. Glad things went well and that you are better able to be in the moment. I need to work on that. I cannot cannot believe it's really 2010 either! Still processing that one. Or, really, ignoring it!

I'm sure you have checked into it, but you should see if your insurance or the facility provides a car to and from radiation for your husband. I know when FIL was getting physical therapy for his knees, and he couldn't drive, they had him picked up every day, and it was all free. I can understand being worried about it, but hes a strong guy! Have a good one lady!!

I'm so glad the first time is under your belts - I would think the not knowing what to expect was the hardest! Since time is passing so quickly - you sped from 1970 to 2010 in mere seconds above - February will be here before you know it! :) ((((hugs)))) just because!

Wow! Another great journal entry by my friend Moose! The words "staying in the moment" are so important. Thanks for the reminder. I also relate to the rapidity with which ten years zoom by. Zoom! 1970 was a great year. 1972 was an awesome year! The early eighties are a blur for me -- all blurred together. My son was born in 86 - so from then on -- events in our little family are benchmarked by his age and-or grade in school. Again - thanks for an awesome journal. Your attitude toward your hubby's treatments is exemplary!

blessings and love heading your direction. I think we can hope all the radiation moments pass very quickly and the warm fuzzy loving ones fill all the spaces in between those very brief blips on the screen. Glad you are where you are-big hugs.

Happy New Year Moose! Glad to see your hubby has started his treatment...putting him one day closer to completing his treatment! Hang in there.

as you said time passes quickly, and we'll be very soon at the end of february and at the end of your hubby's treatment. Until then, I keep you both my my thoughts. we had snow here too, a fluffy powdery one. Beautiful!

.S.i.n.g.l.e.D.i.g.i.t.T.e.m.p... HO!LEE!COW! Cannot compute, cannot compute. I think all of my Hawaiian genes would curl up in a ball and croak if I tried single digit temperatures these days. Northern CA gets chilly, but you've got us beat by a landslide! And time does pass so very, very quickly. I am trying diligently to remember that sage bit these days and not get too side-tracked with all my own stupidity. I remember my 8th birthday with perfect clarity which makes it difficult to comprehend why the heck the 40th one thinks it can barge in this year. I'm going to try your #2 tomorrow. Just because. Happy day, Moose.
