Sometimes I wonder why I still check in here! I'm finding it hard to follow my healthy eat plan when I have no money to buy the fruits and fresh veggies. I had $40 to buy groceries last night and that's to feed 6 people. I did pretty good considering what I had to work with. I bought stuff for meatless spaghetti and stuff for tacos. I had to buy hamburger that was 73/27. Makes me want to throw up just thinking about it. I'm going to rinse it REALLY good after I cook it to get all the fat and grease off it. I usually buy 96/4. Oh well, it'll teach me a lesson on doing my bills better. I'm going to try to exercise everyday this week to make up for the lack of the "healthier" foods.

There are times like this. You do the best you can at the time and when you can do better you do better. Hang in there!!!

Use frozen or canned fruit and veggies... they are just as good/healthy. If canned, make sure no sugar added. You will get big bang for you buck. For protein, canned tuna, beans/legumes, peanut butter, etc... cheap alternatives.

Also what I do is haunt my local wal-mart on sunday morning for discounted meats and freeze them. They are fine as long as you freeze them and use them when you are ready to cook them. We save alot of money that way.
