tiffa5ny's Journal, 20 July 2015

Over the weekend I learned a lot about myself.
1) When I'm stressed. I eat. A lot.
2) When I make a mistake, I throw caution to the wind and go on a full on bender.
3) When I don't have a plan, I indulge.
4) When I feel guilty about what I ate, I don't record it.

Over the last 3 days things were super hectic. Constantly running here or there.

I couldn't tell you everything that I ate. I know there was a couple massive slices of pizza, and a delicious piece of wedding cake, and some amazing fresh fried chicken fingers. And biscuits. Lots of biscuits.

What I can tell you is that for now on I will be pre-planning every meal, snack, and drink before I leave the house every day. I didn't even drink hardly any water.

I can only give you two positives out of this weekend.
1) I didn't drink any soda, even though I sooo wanted too. There was however a lot of Snapple and pink lemonade.
2) I bought a scale. Having one in the house instead of going to the gym to weigh I think will help keep me on track a little bit better.

So I'm basically starting over. But I'm starting over knowing my weaknesses a little bit better than I did before.

Oh, and I bought a measuring tape today. So here are my ridiculously depressing numbers.
Arms: 13" (Both)
Neck: 13.5"
Chest: 47.5"
Waist:39"
Hips: 45"
Thighs: 25"(R) 24"(L)
Calves: 16" (R) 16.5" (L)

I will be setting mini goals in accordance with these numbers in my about me section as soon as I decide on a reasonable goal.

Don't beat yourself up for being a human; at times, we all have feet of clay and no willpower. That said, you now have a plan and that is key to taking control of issues and making progress. You can do this!! We are all here for you.

It happened and you learned from it. We all do it whether we admit it or not. Writing it down is important. It helps keep you accountable and also makes you think twice before you eat it. What matters is that you haven't given up on yourself. You are worth the effort. :)

I messed up too on Sat., but not giving up...today is a new day and tomorrow is gone. I refuse to beat myself up anymore. I've done too much of that already, that's why I weigh what I do.Let's keep on keeping on, no matter what. Hugs.

I like your honesty! Well done on the soda, anyway, and the main thing is you have a plan. And I'll second what Kclab said: don't beat yourself up for being a human. I think we all have bad days.

Don't think of it as gaining weight, but instead as gaining self-awareness and focus!! :)

Thanks everybody for the support. :) I'm feeling a little bit better about it today. It's so easy to fall into that downward spiral, and so hard to pull yourself back up. Looking at the bigger picture, I still weigh less than I did a week ago, so I'll take that as a win for me.
