kbrammer's Journal, 02 July 2023

Trying my hand for the month of July doing a "mostly" plant based diet. My exceptions, rare egg, fish (salmon and tuna on salad) and fat free cream in my coffee. I don't do much dairy anyway, use almond milk on my steel cut oats, don't drink milk. I know I am not being a purist but it takes time to learn all of the tricks of following a purely plant based diet.

Motivation: weight loss, blood pressure and a slowly rising A1C.

If all goes well I will continue my plan into August and beyond, much learning to be done, especially since I hate to cook!
239.4 lb Lost so far: 13.2 lb.    Still to go: 44.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

From one grandma to another, I hear you. I'm reading "Super Gut" written by a cardiologist. He claims the majority of Americans are dealing with SIBO. (I know I am). And a lot of our health issues come from our diet. You might want to check out the book at your library. He's against all grains, even oats, as he believes they have all been modified (GMO). Good luck on your journey.
