I love the hydration before satiation rule. It goes along with the idea that we should be 1/3 water, 1/3 food, and 1/3 air. It also fits with the principle that often times we eat because we are in fact thirsty instead. Quitting smoking was one of the best things I ever did, and it enabled me to enjoy exercise so much more. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and I’m sending support your way!

I like to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. I sometimes will buy a gatorade fit drink and it has less sugar and carbs in it. I'm proud of you for wanting to smoke. I'm sure your lungs will thank you for it. Smoking is rough on anybody. Sugar is super hard to completely cut out of your diet. If you can do it, go for it. Way to go!

Hey! Addiction counselor and teacher here. May I recommend that you make small, incremental changes, instead of trying to tackle it all at once? Psychologically, we only have so much willpower. once it's used up, we tend to fail, catastrophically. I have similar goals. But knowing the psychology, I started at the first of this year, and added one new habit per month. I'm now exercising regularly, have a way healthier diet, my weight is down, and I've lost several sizes. Please be aware that quitting smoking will temporarily lower your metabolism. So trying to quit and diet at the same time is going to overload your willpower while also frustrating you on the scales. Pick your most important goal, like exercise or a diet plan. One you can stick with. Then spend a month building that habit. Add your next goal the following month, and so on. Slow and steady wins the race. Wishing you all the best!!!
