I completed the home assessment for Physical and Occupational Therapy. He was pleased with all the aides I already have in the house and am using. I'm currently approved for 15 visits but he's going to try and get approval for more as he feels I will benefit better by being seen 4 times weekly instead of 2. He is also going to see if he can get me set up with a social worker and mental health to help me with all the stress of my situation and depression. It will be next week before I hear from the PT for scheduling. As far as my visit with the Orthopedist went; he is going to have to refer me to a joint specialist (if he can find one that takes AHCCCS). Because of the Lymphedema, I don't qualify for surgery, but he feels I should at least be getting Cortisone shots in both knees. He also mentioned some kind of "chicken" therapy, but again it's something his nurse is supposed to look into finding me a referral for. I'll keep you posted🤞🙏

The chicken therapy is a fluid made from cock's (rooster's) combs. It is supposed to really help with joint pain.

Fyi. I think it's Synvisc. Sp? I had it and worked well. Look up cortizone shots. I was told not to get them because long term they do more harm. The Synvisc Acts like synovial fluid in the joint and helps . Needs to be redone 3-6 months if i recall. I ended up going on strict anti inflammatory diet which helped me a lot.
