LaShuan's Journal, 26 August 2009

Yesterday I had a decent workout. It has really been a challenge to stay below 2400mg of sodium per day. Everything has some sodium in it. Oh well I am off to a fairly decent start, so we will see how I pan out for thre long term.

I had an okay workout yesterday. I was reading some info from the Mayo Clinic yesterday about strenth training and it talked about a study that showed one set of 12-15 reps can be just as effective as 3 or 4, as long as you acheive muscle exhaustion after the first set. Thats good news because I can potentially reduce the time of my work out.

Yesterday's work out

I've never counted sodium and sometimes wonder whether I should be paying more attention to it. I once dated a girl who would not add salt to anything she cooked or let me add salt either. All the salt adding had to be done at the table, which I didn't particularly like on certain dishes. I am already overextended on counting things, but, if the system incorporates sodium, a glance at it (after understanding sodium which I admit to not understanding) is not at all beyond being doable. I'm glad you have recovered from your headache yesterday and hope you have a great day!

Yes, sodium is everywhere - especially prepared foods. I actually went over today because I ran out of my no-sodium added pasta sauce and used my husband's sauce. (Oh, and I snacked on pretzels). It adds up quickly! One thing I've noticed - I feel like food tastes better now that my taste buds have adjusted.

Yes, sodium is in every...E-V-E-R-Y thing. I dont even add salt to any of my food...if I did I'd really be in trouble. Even though I am still going over I am well below the 3200 - 3900 I was eating every day. Yes, thanks information....my headache is gone... and thanks amryk for the tip.
