Second day of Atkins was good too! Dropped some more weight also!

I was able to behave on my dad's birthday party yesterday. I passed on the french fries, on the cake and only really ate some pepperoni, olives and onions. I felt full nonetheless!

My sister noticed me skipping carbs and wondered if I was doing Atkins... I told her yes and she told me that every person she heard trying this diet, put on all the weight back after giving in to carbs. As I told her, I'll stick to the fact that I think those people would gain weight back no matter what diet they were following!

Everything is going well so far! Hopefully it will stay that way!
Onwards to day 3!
224.2 lb Lost so far: 2.9 lb.    Still to go: 91.9 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Ignore the naysayers... I used to be one and I can tell you that their sole sorce of info is gossip and hearsay. Once I finally learned why carbs cause weight gain I was sold on the low-carb life style. People that only do the diet without understanding why it works are setting themselves up for failure.

Those that gain back do so because after they lose the weight they go right back to eating the way they did prior to being on Atkins. Which is high carb, full of sugar and starches.

It's also possible the people who gain all the weight back after being on Atkins didn't follow the maintenance guidelines. I've read NAFANY & it has very detailed information about how to gradually transition into lifetime maintenance, which includes still being conscious of your carb intake. I'd be willing to be the ones who gained it all back stopped monitoring carbs completely. And for the people who know nothing about Atkins apart from the experiences of people they know who failed at it, they just don't have an understanding of WHY low-carbing works to help you lose weight, & therefore wouldn't understand why those people gained it back. Good job at the party Jessbond!
