Debbie Cousins's Journal, 09 October 2022

Well, we sold $411 worth of merchandise at the church yard sale. There was a TON of stuff left over, though! Today, after church, we let all the members go through and pick out anything they wanted, for free. Tomorrow or Tuesday, all the rest will be donated to Goodwill or a local thrift shop.

I had a bad day again yesterday. I was really conflicted about the yard sale, because I thought I OUGHT to help with it, but I didn't feel like doing it - my knee was hurting badly, and I was having anxiety about it. I ended up taking a pill and going back to sleep, and I didn't go.

This morning started by me spilling a full cup of hot tea on the pull-down table on our couch. I was so mad I almost cussed. I NEVER swear, but I came very close to it. After that, I put on my big girl pants and went on to church. I feel much better now!

Weight was actually down from last Monday by 1 pound this morning, hallelujah! I hope it holds for tomorrow's weigh-in, or maybe even lose a little more. Daily calories for the week were at the high end of my target window at 1,587. That's much better than I thought it would be because I had one day that was over 1,800, and two days in the 1,700's, I think. I managed to minimize the damage by skipping my middle-of-the-night Dave's Killer Good Seed Bread toasted with butter (270 calories). If you've never tried DKB, do NOT try it! It is addicting!

OK, I didn't do dishes yesterday, and both sinks are full. Going to do that now so I won't have to wake up to it again tomorrow.

OH, a couple days this week (including today), I had 4 cans of Diet Coke, instead of just three. Until today, I've still been getting in at least 8 cups of water a day. So far today, I've only drunk 3 cups, so I better get on that!

Your's is not to do or die, your's is to just try. You did this by putting one foot in front of the other and getting out the door. You made it and that is a blessing. Congradulations on the fund raiser at the church. The balance of items you dontated will find the right homes and people to be of service. You are human and yes there are days when we don't want to attempt daily task but doing it no matter will help lessen your axniety for the next day. Happy to hear your still on the journey.

Thanks for all your encouragement through my bad last couple of days. I am in a better frame of mind this morning, even though my weight was up and resulted in a ZERO loss for the week. We had a BIG blessing from the yard sale. There was a dining room table and six upholstered chairs that we were trying to sell for $50. Because of the low attendance at the sale, it didn't sell, which was a blessing. Because, one of the guys in our church listed it online for $450 and we sold it today for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! That was almost as much as we made in the whole rest of the yard sale ($411). Praise the Lord that our sign got stolen so we didn't let that go for less than it was worth. The man who bought it today was VERY excited about his purchase, PTL! Win-win. (Except maybe for the person who stole our sign - they have to deal with God!)

Glad the sale was a success. You did your part getting things ready for the sale there were others to actually oversee the sale itself. Your knee needs lots of tender loving care to get better.

Great job on your weight lose Debbie. I dropped a couple pounds, but now I'm nervous to get one the scale. I am terrible about water. I drink diet ginger ale like mad.
