altamash123's Journal, 10 July 2022

I think food is my coping mechanism, I think a lot about my family problems and how I always feel lonely with no one to talk to. I just binge eat and no amount ever feels enough.
I feel like I'm waiting for someone to help me but I think I'm supposed to just help myself and not expect any help. I don't feel loved, I get daily mood swings, I feel depressed at times and I don't feel I'll ever be good enough for my parents.
My parents don't ever say it out loud but I know that they're disappointed in me because I'm not gonna become a doctor so everything I do just feels pointless, like it doesn't matter if I improve myself I'll just be a bit less of a failure to them.
I just don't ever feel good, I'll try to help myself but we'll see how that works out.

...sometimes we all get self doubt...sometimes we think that people we love feel a certain way about us...communication is key....the fact you can convey how you feel is good...right down when you feel like eating those temptation foods and why and that may help....most of all be kind to yourself ...take care 🤗

Hi heatherboardman thank you I just wanted to get some stuff off my chest that I've been thinking about on and off for a while

Hi suma-ya-c yes I've contacted my GP and they've directed me to some mental health and wellbeing activities I haven't touched them yet but I will do them sooner or later

Hi love.island thank you, I sometimes try to forgive myself but I never have any idea if I'm too forgiving or too hard on myself because I always have things I could improve about myself.

Hi...you are strong wanting to follow your own direction which is being an individual. Take your parents out for a meal in a beautiful setting ....even a picnic...tell them how you are feeling. SHARE....Never under estimate yourself....Big hugz from us ALL!!! Take care X

Please take care of yourself and don't worry about your parents' approval. I think they should be encouraging you to be the best you can in your own way. If they can't manage that, then they're failing you as parents, not the other way round. You know that binge eating is just hurting yourself. Instead, maybe take care of yourself and start to do things which nurture your soul. Good luck.

Hi heather, I'm feeling a bit better, Ive walked 6 miles today, I'm aiming to do atleast 10000 steps a day and hoping this will help me lose atleast 0.5kg by the coming weekend. Thank you

Hi Bearwood, thank you, I'm hoping eating healthier will make me feel better. I get a lot of mood swings and I'm unsure if it's my diet or more of a mental problem so I'm first going to try to have a more healthy diet, less takeaway more fruits and such, and if this doesn't work then I'll contact my GP again for help

Altamash, have you considered speaking to your doctor about anti-depressants? They might help alleviate some of your stresses, the walks are GREAT for clearing the mind, some chill time in the spa/bath and try this next time you're about to binge .... get your snacks ... now take a bite and savour the taste, 20-30 seconds in your mouth per bite. Dont touch for the next 3-5 minutes. Seriously, it helps me when my cravings get the better of me.

Hi geezer123, I'm unsure, I've looked up what stuff has vitamin d in it and I have an okay amount of milk so I assume my levels are normal but not 100% sure. I'll check if I can buy actual vitamin d supplements at ASDA and see if they help me or not. Thank you

Hi not_so_skinny, yes I've talked to my GP about anti-depressants and they said it's too early for me to consider medication and that I should first practice mindfulness and try CBT to see if that helps me. I've been given a link to CBT but haven't tried it yet. Also thanks for the advice on the food, I'll try it next time I get cravings. Thank you
