1.4 gained! No good reasons. But there has been a sudden change in mindset, coupled with stress. We will have to move and I look at all this food in the freezer and pantry and I panic. I've started stress eating and eating more to "use stuff up." Also went on short vacation and ate too much there. I need to reassess this behavior and find a better solution.
151.6 lb Lost so far: 25.4 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Mewgirl, throwing away food isn't natural, we're programmed to keep/save food! When I decided to go through the pantry/fridge and remove certain foods I had the worst time. Even felt guilty. Then a friend said "if you eat all this food you're using yourself like a human garbage disposal! This isn't what you want to eat, throw or give it away" Made a lot of sense. It's all gone now and I didn't fill myself up with unwanted calories. Hope this helps :-) Moving sucks, take care of you, okay :-)

LivinBreezy -- I grew up poor, so I'm notorious on the "using things up" front. It's the reason I can't buy potato chips. I have no doubt from an appetite and craving perspective I'd be able to moderate, but I'd feel compelled to eat them before they went stale. I also have trouble stopping at restaurants when there's food on the plate. I've gotten better, but you're right -- no sense in using our bodies as garbage disposals!

Wwyo, it's how I stop myself from eating foods that I know aren't what I really want. I think about what it'll do to me and it starts to look garbagey! Big turn-off. Big win for me!!!

Writingwyo— potato chip type products are not typically in my food lineup but once in a while they hit the spot so I jump in my car and go to the local gas station or whatever that sells the little individual serving size packages and buy whatever I want. And, if I have to buy A bigger bag than I actually want I crush the bag when I have eaten my portion and throw it away.

Wwyo, 4th of July barbeque someone said "oh, 1 bite isn't a big deal, you can just leave the rest" I wondered when the last time the skinny 114lb. was even 10lbs overweight? Then I laughed and walked away very satisfied I didn't take the bait. Have a great day :-)

Thanks everyone ♡ yeah I'm hoping the stress of moving eases up. I think I'll have enough time to meal plan and use up food in the house, but my anxiety for some reason says "eat it all NOW!" It's not particularly bad food or junk food, but I do find I'm eating more in general ever since I realized we're moving (also to a place that's half the size of our current place). There's almost no food storage place, and no real pantry. I'll have to minimize and get creative...
