Hubby has to have a below knee amputation. I know I need to look after myself, but I'm the type that puts others first. It's just two of us, no kids. Will keep ya updated. Thanks

I just read— amputation of leg. Diabetes related? Or injury. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Don’t use that excuse of putting others first. You know that old saying— if you don’t take care of yourself you can’t take care of anyone else.

Yes, hubby is diabetic and we were both working out and eating plant based diet. We both lost some weight. Then his foot decided over time to reopen and within course of maybe a month it got infected hence why he decided to go ahead and have a below knee amputation to limit risk of it re infecting in future. We're young, both early 40's We'll get through it.

Pardon my question but what would be the worse case scenario if it did get reinfected?

Stay strong

superman6283 there is a chance the infection isn't caught right away and enters his blood stream causing sepsis. Sepsis has a 40% mortality rate. That's the worse case scenario. He also could become infected again and loose a greater part of his leg.
