Shawn Murphy's Journal, 05 April 2022

Sleeping like shit.
Eating like shit.
Partner bringing in shit food constantly.
She's getting fat and ordering food almost every day.
Getting resentful and about to kick her ass out.
I'm sick of being enabled every time I open the fridge.
I'm sick of wasting money on Uber Eats.
Gonna be a fun talk.

That sucks and I'm sorry.

Appreciate you saying your truth. Based on the pictures posted by other FS members, their spouses are also fat, eating crap, and loading up the fridge & pantry with tempting garbage. It sabotages the diets of those wanting to get healthy. Let us know how the "Honey, we need to talk" goes!

Life's too short. Time to save yourself and go solo! Peace 2HJ

I wish you good luck on your discussion. My partner can’t let go of Coca Cola even though I explained it’s diabetes in a bottle and why she can’t shake the extra 5kg she complains about. 🙄

Why are you paying for her Uber eats? You can only fix yourself.

Shawn I empathize, as I have had similar thoughts and lack of lifestyle support most of my life. I wish you success! If you were just venting, and do not want any advice....STOP READING NOW. 💡💡💡Shawn, you have a lot of 😠anger, 😩frustration, 🥱sleepless nights, and self-fulfilling negative talk. 1️⃣SLEEP.💤😴🛌 First, maybe see a Doctor to rule out Sleep Apnea. If undiagnosed, sleep apnea plays heavily into illnesses of all sorts, and also mental exhaustion.2️⃣ GET SUPPORT.🥼 Ask the Doctor for a referral to a nutritionist. FS support is here for you. But, as well, have supportive buddy to call or meet with locally. 3️⃣ YOU DO YOU. Tune out everyone else, when it comes to food & exercise, as they are presently not supportive, and they may even be sabotaging your efforts intentionally. To family just say: "I no longer eat foods that make me feel ill, tired and angry. I am, now and forever, setting a good lifestyle example for my family." 4️⃣ BLAME & EXCUSES. Don't blame others, even family, unless they are holding you down and force-feeding you against your will. 5️⃣ "NO, I DO NOT EAT THAT". Have a ready response, let it become robotic, and do not defend your choices. The more often you say, "No, I do not eat that. I prefer _ _ _", the easier it will become, and the more success you will have. Again, YOU DO YOU. 6️⃣ 🍽🥡FOOD ORDERS. Until you can handle restaurant eating and take-out & delivered food (Uber Eats), I would suggest avoiding it and alcohol altogether. A recipe for failure. Get your good food & fitness habits entrenched, before dining out. If there is an unavoidable family celebration, just plan ahead! 7️⃣😈 AVOID TEMPTATIONS. Buy a second fridge, even a 1/2 size, just to be stocked with your healthy foods. And set aside 1 kitchen cupboard, just for your pantry. 😉You must have the money or you would not be eating out all the time. And if your wife and kids start raiding YOUR fridge, that is a good thing. Right? Shawn you can do this!!!

Yes, take some action and some responsibility instead of blaming (this is what this whole post is) your choices on her. Are you a child? Are you not able to prepare your own food? Are you forced to eat food you see in the fridge? Yes, set your partner free, she'll be happier without your and your blame. Your fatness is your own fault.

Tell’em oats. Face the truth. Fitness journey is about mental strength. If you cant control yourself you will eventually fail anyway. It’s ok if you want her to change for her health but not just for you cuz it makes things harder for you

Reminds me of the time I told my girlfriend, “We can still see each other but if you want to keep that cat that pisses everywhere you gotta move out.”

It's great to have a partner join you through your journey, but the only one it matters to, is you. Good luck and hope everything works out.

She brings in shit food, holds you down, and force feeds you. Wow! That is one powerful chick. I would hold on to her. Set her free. She is better off without someone who talks about her like this.

So its all her fault?

Attaining a healthier lifestyle and your journey to it is all about you and your mindset! You are an adult, if you are in a non-fullfilling relationship it is not someone else's fault. Either commit to fixing it or get out. Don't resort to blame, your health is your choice. Take responsibility for your own life.
