155.....I am still flat-lined. Slowed down on my exercice, it has been too hot for my neighborhood walks. I have keep up on my stationary bike and hula hoop. Weights when I can. Marathon weed pulling yesterday. Since I have been skipping my walks, I really am trying to keep my food intake down also, sticking to my 1500 calories. I love fruit this time of year..... the ones loaded down with natural sugar......of course.

SherrieC, I love to hula hoop. About a year and half ago I bought a weighted hoop in the fitness isle at Walmart for $20.00. At the time I was 55 and had not learned to hoop growing up. I practiced just a few minutes every day until I FINALLY GOT IT!!! Took me about a month or do. But I kept practicing. At first I could only keep it going a few times. Gradually I worked my way up. I now hoop 15-20 minutes a day. I could go longer!!! I encourage hooping. If you hoop, let me know. Love to hear about others!!! ♥

Didn't know there were weighted hula hoops. Hula hoops are not like riding a bike..was a kid the first time they were a fad wasn't bad at it. Bought one for the grandkids awhile back. It hangs in the garage, I've tried it a few times and was awful at it, maybe I'll try it more.

wholefoodnut......YES!!! Grab that hoop!! I tried both, but for me, an (old) newbee, the weighted was easier to learn with. My hoops' home is in the bedroom. I like to watch TV or listen to music while I hoop. Having fun and working out, doesn't get any better than that!! ♥

Would help this muffin top, I'm sure. Might just have to get it off it's hook in the garage and practice.

I can't hula hoop, but I can use it to jump with.... I may buy one of those extra large ones and have some fun... thanks for the idea!! :)

Cool idea, jumping is high impact and hard on your joints so be careful..

i like the idea of the hula hoop. i don't know how to do it. what do you count it as when you log your exercise?

Gnewfry.....I was like you, wondering how hooping counts. I "googled" and got some numbers there. According to my calculations, I counted it at burning 100 calories for my 15 minutes. Recently I put the Map My Walk app on my phone.(android) There isn't hooping listed, but there is an "Other Gym Workout" I used that and I am coming up with 127-130 calories for 15 minutes. Now on my FS, under "Exercise" there you can manually add you own exercise, enter the time spent and calories burned. I hope this info has been helpful. I have been thinking about starting some kind of challenge with hooping. Cookie46.......I love the idea of jumping!!! That would really work up a sweat!!

oooh a challenge! you would have to give us some time to buy a hoop. did you have to go to the kids toys section of walmart?
29 Jun 14 by member: Gnewfry
I have two hoops I got at Walmart from the toy section. I almost bought one at Kohl's that was weighted but figure I need to utilize the ones I have before I spend money on an exercise one. I had practiced a bit and did well for awhile and then I stopped. Last time I tried it was like learning all over again! It's still alot of fun and my granddaughter's think they have a wacky Nana when they see me do it!

LOL my grandkids always think I'm whacky, but that's fun. Will definitely get it off it's hook and work at learning how again. It's been awhile since I tried.

Gnewfry......go to the fitness isle at Walmart. ($20.00) The weighted hoops come in boxes. They have to be assembled, super easy to put together!!
