minka1's Journal, 26 March 2011

Having a really tough time losing weight. I'm perplexed because I'm following the diet really closely. The only thing I've been doing that I don't normally do is eating packaged Atkins bars, shakes and adding splenda to my tea...maybe my body just doesn't like the processed stuff and is revolting against it?!!! I did exercise this week, but not consistently. Incorporating exercise will always be my stumbling block as my work hours are so long and I am just exhausted after work. I wish I was a morning person and could get the exercise out of the way in the AM.

Does any one have any suggestions? Would you mind looking at my food journal and advise re: what I might add and what I should avoid?!

Thanks!

From what I have read on here, many people have problems with Atkins bars and losing. Don't know why? Try a week of natural foods and see what happens. Take a cooler with you to work with some snacks in it that you can eat. You can boil eggs, etc.

I agree with Suzi161. It's those Atkins products. I studied my diet calendar and noticed that when I had more than 1 bar or shake a day (even though they're marked okay for all phases) I either gained or maintained. So try skipping the Atkins stuff (or limit it to 1) and see if that helps.

That must be it. I normally would never eat that stuff, instead I throw a couple of bananas or apples in my bag to eat as a snack at work, or when I'm on my way home. On induction I haven't been eating fruit, and I need something convenient to eat. It goes against my normal sense of good eating to eat those processed foods...I'm going to cut them out and see what happens. Thanks Suzi161 and mitdiva!

Yes, I had to cut out the bars too! I got the shakes though and seem to have a lot less over all carbs! So I've been drinking some of them. Can't weigh right now though since my knee injury and surgery. Guess is will be about 4 more weeks before I can weight :-( Oh well, will still stick with my Atkins lifestyle (minus the bars :-) )

More vegetables, no alcohol, no more than one Atkins product a day, and you could bring a cup of berries with you to work :)
