Hitting the gym today; Monday, Wed, and today workout days this week. I had a political meeting last night with a "PAC." It was a bit funny because when I walked in the room I realized I had worked or gotten to know half of the people in the room over my career. When I got home, I had an email from a very old friend I served with in the military; in a portion of the email he wrote, something that really took me back and combined with all the other events that happened that day I had to pause. If anyone were to see me they would swear I was in a thousand-mile stare. He wrote, there was a time we were among the best this nation had to offer, we were the elite but now we’re just broken-down old men. I don’t think I ever stopped long enough to realize this is the time of my life I should be retired and just taking care of the garden, cutting the lawn and sitting around at the malls. Maybe if I do not win this election, that is exactly what I am going to do.

Have a beautiful Friday my FS friends!

Just because it's popular to act retired, doesn't mean that it's the path we should all take. If you have the energy or drive to follow a different trajectory, then by all means follow the passion. And if yours is running for office next election, then go for it. Nothing wrong with retiring and doing yard work/home improvement projects and golf/sailing, but it's not for everyone.

Golfing is definitely not my thing -lol - I tried that Bananas but I was probably one of the worst in the history of mankind. I have always been more of a mountain climber, camping, skydiving, scuba diving, archery, shooting, and camping sportsperson. My daughter bought me a set of golf balls once with my granddaughters face on them. After she gave them to me, she thought about it and said, that probably was a little sick to buy you something with your granddaughters picture on that you are supposed to hit. My buddy chimed in, Oh if you ever saw him play golf, you wouldn't be worried about it.

I braided my hair into double pigtails this week despite my age. Who cares? I felt cute. You should try it!
